Die Kohle wird dabei zumindest teilweise vom Gehäuse umschlossen. Der Lüfter unterstützt das Durchglühen der Kohlen oder übernimmt diesen Vorgang. Das Heizelement kann dann abgeschaltet werden und das Gerät wird gekühlt. Ebenfalls kann der Lüfter zugeschaltet oder abgeschaltet und der Glühvorgang gesteuert werden. Dieser Schaltprozess kann ebenfalls durch eine Steuerung oder Regelung erfolgen. Durch die konstruktive Auslegung und funktionale Anordnung von Gehäuse, Heizelement, Lüfter und Schaltsystem werden ein schnelles Anzünden und gleichmäßiges Durchglühen ermöglicht. Außerdem steigt die Sicherheit der Vorrichtung, weil die Überhitzung kontrolliert und Brandgefahr reduziert werden. Die Standzeit der Vorrichtung, insbesondere des Heizelementes werden gleichzeitig maximiert.
