Abstract

The candle comprises a wick, a fuel marked with or without candle cores (1), and a film for extinguishing wick arranged as a plate in a lower region of the candle and integrated into the candle fuel. A shape of the plate is adapted for insertion into a shape of the candle. The film is disposed in a predeterminable distance above a standing surface and at a predefined distance from a bottom of the candles during burning, and flame is extinguished after passage through the film for lack of fuel. An independent claim is included for a film for extinguishing wick.

Description

The invention relates to cast candles with and without candle core, in particular pillar candles, and a method for producing such a candle, wherein the candle has a burner body, a centrally mounted wick, and a wick-extinguishing foil in the lower part of the candle.

The cast candles are substantially cast with and without the use of a candle core in suitable molds.

The candle cores are manufactured essentially on presses using suitable fuel in powder, granule or lozenge form.

The candle cores can also be made in other processes such as casting or extrusion.

The cast candles can be used either freestanding on candlesticks, or in floral arrangements such as Advent wreaths.

The burning of candles in the home is basically a danger, namely by improper use, by repelling or by putting up inappropriate places and documents.

In particular, however, there is danger when using the candles in arrangements, Advent wreaths and the like.

In many cases, the decorative material, which is flammable in most cases, extends well beyond the foot area of the candles.

When burned, the flame of the burning candle naturally comes closer and closer to the flammable parts of the arrangement, which increases the risk of spreading the fire.

State of the art

Different methods are known for solving this problem, as in EP 1 972 682 B1 proposed by a cup of incombustible material is introduced into the candle.

However, this has the disadvantage that the consumer surprisingly appears in the burning candle a tealight cup used in practice.

Another solution is from Offenlegungsschrift DE 10 2006 007 864 A1 known.

The candle described therein comprises a candle plate, which is arranged in the region of the base of the candle.

The candle plate is plate-shaped round and provided with a border.

A disadvantage of this known prior art is in particular that the barely perceptible border is unable to prevent the flow of the burning wick residue from the candle dish on a pad.

The disadvantage here is that the wick does not automatically extinguish, but falls over on the candle plate and continue to burn.

In this case, the wick may fall near the edge of the candle plate, so that there is still the danger that ignites the decoration material.

Therefore, candle mounting devices containing a holder, a candle plate and a pin were developed ("Safe Stick Candle" of Richard Wenzel GmbH & Co KG, Aschaffenburg,
Offenlegungsschrift DE 10 2006 030 123 A1 ).

In this candle fixing device, a wick holder prevents the wick from falling in the liquid fuel with almost complete burning of the candle.

The disadvantage, however, on the one hand, that this unit of plug pin and candle plate high costs caused by additional investment in machinery.

Object of the present invention is to ensure a self-extinguishing the flame of cast candles near the end of the burning time on or in flammable carriers, to ensure a safe extinction of the candles and to avoid the disadvantages described in the current state of the art.

This prevents the wick from coming into direct contact with the nearby candle environment, such as the Advent wreath, and igniting it.

The object of the invention is also that the task can be realized by very little additional investment.

The object is achieved according to the invention, in which a centrally suitable, non-flammable film is inserted into the mold for Wicklöschfunktion.

This can be done by applying a non-flammable foil to a candle core. (please refer 2 )

The candle core is then placed in a mold on a mandrel and cast around with suitable fuel. (please refer 4 )

The length of the mandrel and the depth of the mandrel channel in the candle core ensures a uniform, freely selectable distance of the wick extinguishing foil from the candle bottom.

After demolding the cast pillar candle with candle core of the casting approach is milled on the ground, drilled the wicking channel and the candle bedektet. (please refer 5 )

When burned the candle extinguishes the wick after passing through the wick-extinguishing foil.

The wick remains firmly in the bottom of the candle in the unmelted fuel mass, so that the wick does not fall over, but extinguishes, since no more fuel mass rises in the wick.

This design ensures that the candle extinguishes at an adjustable distance from the candle base and thus extinguished securely in arrangements and Advent wreaths, in which the combustible decoration material protrudes laterally beyond the candle bottom.

This wicking foil may be a sheet of thin aluminum or a similar sheet of non-combustible material. (please refer 2 )

Preferably, the wicking foil is made of aluminum, e.g. B. self-adhesive aluminum labels, which are commercially available inexpensively.

Since the plate must be applied to the front side of the candle core, the size and shape of the plate is suitable to choose depending on the candle cross-section.

Often in the production of Advent wreaths and arrangements Wire pins are used to attach the candles to the ground, with aluminum is easy to pierce because of its high extensibility with wire pins.

However, the wicking foil may also be made of another refractory material.

If no candle core is used, the wick-extinguishing foil can also be inserted into the candle in a suitable position.

Molded candles without a core are traditionally replenished several times during production in casting molds in order to fill up the sprue.

The wicking foil is usually introduced before the last casting. (please refer 7 )

Claims (7)

A candle comprising a wick, a fuel, with or without a candle core, and a wick-extinguishing foil, characterized in that the wick-extinguishing function is a plate located at the bottom of the candle and integrated with the fuel. Candle according to claim 1, characterized in that the shape of the plate (wick-extinguishing foil) is suitable for introduction into the respective candle mold. Candle according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the wick-extinguishing foil is not arranged on the base of the candle, but at a predeterminable distance above the standing surface. Wick extinguishing foil, characterized in that the wick-extinguishing foil is made of aluminum or another non-combustible material. Candle characterized in that the burning of the candle through the wick-extinguishing foil ends at a pre-defined distance from the candle bottom. Candle characterized in that the wick can reach down to the bottom of the candle, which does not liquefy when burning and so the wick can not tip over. Candle according to one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the flame extinguished after passing through the wick-extinguishing foil for lack of nachsaugbarem fuel.
