Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a SMD-populated foil strip and a method for producing the SMD-filled foil strip. The SMD-equipped foil strip is particularly suitable as a heating device, lighting device or resistor network.
The heating of substances by means of heaters has been known for a long time and in a variety of applications. Consumers are particularly familiar with the use of domestic and automotive heaters. In many cases, it is necessary to prevent liquids, in particular solutions, from freezing or to effect a rapid thawing of a frozen liquid.
Disadvantage of known heaters is their low flexibility, their high weight and their high price. Moreover, in view of these properties, the known heating devices require complex and thus expensive processes for their production.
The object of the invention is to eliminate the disadvantages of the prior art. In particular, an SMD-filled foil strip is to be specified which has high flexibility, low weight and a comparatively low price. Furthermore, a method for producing such a SMD-equipped film strip is to be specified.
This object is solved by the features of
According to the invention, an SMD-equipped foil strip is provided which comprises at least two mutually parallel flat conductor made of an electrically conductive material and a plastic film, wherein the flat conductors are arranged with their first broad sides and spaced apart on one surface side of the plastic film and on its second Broad side SMD components are mounted, each SMD component contacted two flat conductors.
An SMD device is a device suitable for surface mounting. The abbreviation SMD stands for the English expression "surface-mounted device". Such devices have in contrast to through hole technology (THT), are used in the wired components, no wire connections, but are soldered by means of solderable pads directly to the flat conductor.
An SMD-equipped foil tape is understood to mean a band-shaped or strip-shaped foil which carries SMD components on one of its surface sides. The SMD components are applied to the flat conductors of the film by means of the surface mounting technology (SMT) known in the art.
The inventively provided SMD components are preferably selected from the group comprising resistors, capacitors, quartzes, diodes, transistors and coils, and combinations thereof. The SMD components can be used in any desired design, for example in a cylindrical or parallelepiped design, the cylindrical design being preferred. The end faces of the inventively provided SMD components are preferably designed as contacts. Connecting wires for connecting the SMD components to the flat conductors are therefore not required. For this reason, the distance between the narrow sides of adjacent flat conductors should be selected so that the SMD component, which contacts these two flat conductors, is in contact with the broad sides of the two flat conductors, which face away from the plastic film.
In one embodiment of the invention, the SMD devices are electrical resistors for converting electrical energy into thermal energy. In this case, the SMD-equipped film strip according to the invention can be used as a heating device. If the flat conductors are supplied with power, the resistors convert the electrical energy supplied via the flat conductors into heat energy. This heat energy can then be used to heat, for example, liquids, such as solutions.
In another embodiment, the SMD components are diodes, preferably LEDs (Light Emitting Diode). In this case, the SMD-equipped film strip according to the invention can be used as a lighting device. If the flat conductors are supplied with power, the LEDs convert the electrical energy supplied via the flat conductors into light. This light can then be used for lighting.
The SMD-equipped foil strip according to the invention has an open design. In particular, in contrast to flat-ribbon cables (FFC), the SMD-equipped foil strip has no further foil which has been applied to the populated side of the plastic foil and would cover the broad side of the flat cables facing away from the plastic foil. However, a protective coating for surface sealing can be applied.
Das erfindungsgemäße SMD-bestückte Folienband ist insbesondere als Heizvorrichtung, Leuchtvorrichtung oder Widerstandsnetzwerk geeignetThe SMD-populated foil strip according to the invention is characterized by high flexibility, low weight and a comparatively low price. The SMD-equipped foil strip according to the invention is particularly suitable as a heating device, lighting device or resistor network
The plastic film is preferably web or strip-shaped. Preferably, it is made of polyethylene naphthalate (PEN), polyamide or polyester, with polyester being particularly preferred. The thickness of the plastic film is preferably 10 or more micrometers. Its width is preferably 2 or more microns.
The flat conductors are preferably conductor tracks. Preferably, they are made of copper or aluminum, with copper being preferred. The distance between two adjacent flat conductors is preferably determined as a function of the extent of the resistance in the transverse direction to the longitudinal direction of the flat conductors. The flat conductors preferably have an approximately rectangular cross-section. The term "approximately rectangular in cross-section" of the flat conductor is intended to denote both flat conductors of rectangular cross-section and flat conductors with a cross-section which deviates from an ideal rectangular cross-section, for example by having rounded corners. The thickness of the flat conductor is preferably 10 or more micrometers. The flat conductors are preferably spaced from the longitudinal edges of the plastic film. Preferably, the flat conductors have the same dimensions and are made of the same material, but this is not required.
In one embodiment of the invention, the flat conductors are glued to the surface side of the plastic film. For this purpose, the plastic film may be coated with an adhesive layer. The adhesive may be an adhesive composition based on a poly (meth) acrylate. The thickness of the adhesive layer is preferably between 10 and 80 micrometers. Preferably, the adhesive layer is applied over the entire surface of a surface side of the plastic film, but this is not required. However, an adhesive layer is not mandatory. The attachment of the flat conductors to the plastic layer can also take place by means of other methods known to the person skilled in the art, which are known to the person skilled in the art, for example, from the production of FFC.
The thickness and width of the plastic film, the flat conductor and, if present, the adhesive layer can be determined by those skilled in the art, for example based on his knowledge of the production of FFC.
To produce the contact between the flat conductors and the SMD components, contact elements made of an electrically conductive material are preferably applied to the broad sides of the flat conductors facing away from the plastic film. For this purpose, solder deposits can be applied to the flat conductor, which produce a material bond between the flat conductors and the contacts of the SMD components during soldering. For example, the solder deposits may be selected from the group consisting of tin solders, silver solders, brass solders, and phosphorous solders, with tin solders being preferred. The solder deposits can by known methods such as screen printing or dispensing on the second broad sides of the leads, d. H. the broad sides, which are facing away from the plastic film, are applied.
The SMD components are preferably arranged in a direction transverse to the two longitudinal axes of the flat conductors that contact them. On adjacent flat conductors, for example, first contact elements can be provided which, with respect to the longitudinal axis of the flat conductors, are formed opposite one another. Each SMD component can thus contact a first contact element of a first flat conductor and the opposite first contact element of an adjacent, second flat conductor. This arrangement of the SMD components is achieved transversely to the longitudinal direction of both flat conductors.
With respect to the longitudinal axis of a flat conductor, the distance between the adjacent first contact elements, which are formed on this flat conductor, preferably identical, but it may also be different.
Preferably, on flat conductors, on which first contact elements are provided, also second contact elements are provided, which are spaced from the first contact elements. In this case, the second contact elements of a first flat conductor should be arranged offset from the second contact elements of an adjacent, second flat conductor. Via second contact elements, the flat conductors can be supplied with power. Power can be supplied via the wires. Conveniently, one end of a first lead wire to a second contact element of a first flat conductor and one end of a second lead wire is electrically connected to a second contact element of a second flat conductor, wherein the first and the second lead are contacted by at least one common SMD component. The two wires may be directly or indirectly connected to a power source. If a current flows, it is transmitted via the two lead wires to the flat conductors, so that the SMD components are supplied with power. If the SMD components electrical resistances so the heat energy generated on the surroundings are transmitted. The transfer can be effected, for example, by direct contact with the environment or via a heat-conducting material which surrounds or encloses the heating device.
Expediently, based on the longitudinal axis of a flat conductor, in each case two, three or more successive first contact elements, a second contact element is formed, wherein at the ends of the leads a different sequence can be selected to the desired offset of the second contact elements between adjacent flat conductors cause. For example, in each case a first contact element can be formed on one end of two adjacent flat conductors on the first flat conductor and the second flat conductor. In the direction of the second ends of the flat conductor, a second contact element then follows on the first flat conductor before a first contact element is again formed. On the second flat conductor is the second contact element of the first flat conductor no second contact element opposite. Instead, the first contact element there directly follows a further first contact element, which, however, is then followed by a second contact element, which does not face a second contact element on the first flat conductor. This staggered beginning of the formation of second contact elements ensures that when a respective second contact element is formed on each of the two parallel conductors after the same number of first contact elements, these second contact elements are offset from one another.
Apart from the ends of the flat conductors, in each case a second contact element is preferably formed after in each case three successive first contact elements.
For contacting a flat conductor for supplying electrical energy, a single second contact element per flat conductor would be sufficient per se. If, however, a plurality of second contact elements are provided per lead, depending on the specific application of the SMD-populated foil strip in each case the second contact element - for example via a lead wire - are connected to a power source, which is particularly suitable for contacting due to its location.
- - Is arranged on the first lead between the first contact element of the first SMD component and the first contact element of the second SMD component, a second contact element, while on the second lead between the first contact element of the first SMD component and the first contact element of the second SMD -Bauelementes no second contact element is arranged; and
- - Is arranged on the first lead between the first contact element of the second SMD component and the first contact element of the third SMD component, no second contact element, while on the second lead between the first contact element of the second SMD component and the first contact element of the third SMD -Bauelementes a second contact element is arranged.
The first, second and third SMD components are preferably electrical resistors for converting electrical energy into thermal energy.
Preferably, this arrangement is formed repeatedly on the two flat conductors, wherein no second contact elements are formed between two adjacent arrangements.
However, other arrangements can be chosen or completely dispensed with repetitive arrangements.
It can be provided that, to protect the flat conductors, the contact elements and the SMD components, a protective lacquer is applied to the populated side of the plastic film. The protective lacquer can be any lacquer used in the surface sealing technique of printed circuit boards, for example, a silicone-based material lacquer. The protective lacquer layer preferably has a layer thickness of 20 to 50 micrometers. For example, it can be applied by spraying or spraying onto the populated side of the plastic film so that the SMD components, the exposed portion of the flat conductors and the contact elements and the exposed areas of the populated surface side of the plastic film are covered with the protective varnish.
The SMD-equipped film strip according to the invention may comprise further components, for example a housing, but this is not necessary. In a preferred embodiment, the SMD-equipped film strip according to the invention consists only of the plastic film, two or more flat conductors, first and second contact elements and the SMD components.
- (a) Beschichten einer Flächenseite der Kunststofffolie mit einer Klebstoffschicht;
- (b) Laminieren der Flachleiter auf die Klebstoffschicht;
- (c) Auftragen von Lötpaste auf die Flachleiter unter Ausbildung von Lotdepots zur Bildung der ersten und zweiten Kontaktelemente;
- (a) coating an area side of the plastic film with an adhesive layer;
- (b) laminating the leads to the adhesive layer;
- (c) applying solder paste to the leads to form solder deposits to form the first and second contact elements;
- (d) applying the SMD components to the solder deposits provided to form the first contact elements; and
- (e) soldering the SMD components to the first contact elements.
In a preferred embodiment, the plastic film is provided as a tape on a first roll, one portion of which is unrolled from the roll, tensioned and, after performing steps (a) through (e), the loaded portion thus obtained is wound on a second roll , In this way, the SMD-equipped film strip according to the invention is obtained in roll form. From this role, each one segment can be unwound with the desired number of SMD components by the user and separated by a section transverse to the longitudinal axis of the flat conductor. In this case, each segment should comprise at least one SMD component and each lead of the segment at least a second contact element. The provision of the SMD-equipped foil tape as a roll product facilitates their adaptation to the actual use, since the choice of the length of the segment and thus the number of SMD components that are located on the segment, the benefits, such as the heating power or luminosity , easy to adjust. Each of these segments is in itself an SMD-filled foil strip within the meaning of the invention.
It can be provided that, following step (e) and, if provided, before winding onto the second roll, the protective lacquer layer is applied to the populated side of the plastic film.
Dabei zeigenThe invention will be explained in more detail below with reference to embodiments, which are not intended to limit the invention, with reference to the drawings. Show
In the drawings, like reference characters designate like elements throughout. If a distinction between elements is required, this is done by adding a digit after a point. If it is necessary to distinguish between elements with regard to their position on the first flat conductor or the second flat conductor, the elements on the second flat conductor are characterized by an overline.
