Das erfindungsgemäße Filtersystem zeichnet sich dadurch aus, dass das Filtersystem zumindest ein zusätzliches als Hochleistungs-Adsorberelement ausgebildetes Filterelement umfasst, welches dazu ausgelegt ist, eine für die vorliegenden anorganischen Luftverunreinigungen und/oder VOC-Konzentrationen ausreichende Menge Sorptionsmittel zur Verfügung zu stellen. Ein derartiges Filtersystem ist somit sehr gut dazu geeignet, anorganische Luftverunreinigungen und sogenannte VOC's, die nicht nur von außen in den Fahrzeuginnenraum eingetragen werden können, sondern insbesondere auch durch Ausgasen von Materialien im Innenraum freigesetzt werden können, aus der Luft des Fahrzeuginnenraums zu entfernen. Bei dem vorgeschlagenen Filtersystem dient das Hochleistungs-Adsorberelement einer schnellen Physisorption von Schadstoffen aus der Luft, insbesondere von organischen Verbindungen wie VOC's. Als Beispiele seien Stoffgruppen wie Alkane/Alkene, Aromaten, Terpene, Halogenkohlenwasserstoffe, Ester, Aldehyde und Ketone und auch gasförmige, anorganische Substanzen angegeben. Da die höchsten Mengen an Innenraum-VOC's in den ersten Monaten nach Produktion eines Neufahrzeuges vorliegen, sieht die Erfindung vor, für diesen Zeitraum eine entsprechend hohe Aufnahmekapazität zur Verfügung zu stellen, die jedoch nach Abnahme der VOC-Konzentration im Fahrzeuginnenraum (ca. 4–6 Monate) nicht mehr benötigt und somit entfernt werden kann.The filter system according to the invention is characterized in that the filter system comprises at least one additional filter element designed as a high-performance adsorber element, which is designed to provide a sufficient amount of sorbent for the present inorganic air pollutants and / or VOC concentrations. Eine Ausführungsform sieht daher vor, dass das Filterelement als innerhalb des Filtersystems angeordneter Wechselfilter ausgebildet ist, dergestalt, dass das Filterelement nach Abnahme anliegender anorganischer Belastungen und/oder VOC-Konzentrationen aus dem Filtersystem entfernt bzw. ausgetauscht werden kann. Nach einem definierten Zeitraum wird das zusätzliche Filterelement aus dem Filtersystem entfernt, so dass der zusätzliche temporäre Druckverlust durch das Hochleistungs-Adsorberelement nur für einen bestimmten Zeitraum (ca. 4–6 Monate) auftritt bzw. in Kauf genommen werden muss. Nach dem Entfernen des zusätzlichen Hochleistungs-Adsorberelements ist lediglich der Druckverlust der vorhandenen Hybridfiltereinheit oder Partikelfiltereinheit zu berücksichtigen. Die Erfindung sieht somit vor, dass zumindest für einen definierten Zeitraum, eine angemessene Menge Sorbentien bereitgestellt und bedarfsgerecht eingesetzt werden. Nach Entnahme des Hochleistungs-Adsorberelements liegt die im Wesentlichen nachgeschaltete Hybrid- oder Partikelfiltereinheit bzgl. der Partikelabscheidung annähernd im Neuzustand vor. Beispielsweise kann bei der Entnahme des zusätzlichen Filterelements wahlweise kein oder ein entsprechend angepasstes Filterelement bzw. Beispielsweise kann das zusätzliche Filterelement der Filtereinheit unmittelbar vorgelagert sein. Es ist jedoch nicht zwangsläufig eine Kombination von Filtereinheit und Filterelement erforderlich. Beispielsweise kann vorgesehen sein, dass das Hochleistungs-Adsorberelement nicht zwangsdurchströmt wird, sondern lediglich eine Überströmung des zusätzlichen Filterelements erfolgen kann. Beispielsweise kann das Filterelement über eine eigene Tragestruktur in Form eines Tragrahmens oder dergleichen verfügen oder an bzw. in die Tragstruktur der vorhandenen und verbleibenden Filtereinheit integriert werden.
