Abstract
Description
The invention relates to a cellular communication network for wireless radio transmission with a plurality of radio cells.
In a mobile ad-hoc network (MANET), d. H. a self-organizing radio network between mobile subscribers, it must be ensured that the transmission of a subscriber is not disturbed by the transmissions of other subscribers (self-interference). In the case of decentralized coordination of the medium access of the individual subscribers, the so-called "hidden station" or "hidden terminal" problem arises in most cases of application: In order to ensure conflict-free medium access, a subscriber must coordinate his access with other subscribers who are outside his communication range , Without special measures this does not succeed, whereby it comes to collisions of messages (mutual disturbance of the participants).
In the cellular concept, it should be noted that among the propagation conditions and the desired radio range given in an application, a certain minimum distance must be maintained between cells using the same resource. For a channel repeat scheme in a cell structure, this results, together with the desired cell size, in an at least required total number N ges of different channels (cells).
For the geographical distribution of resources between the cells in a MANET, a multiple access method must be chosen, which offers a very high selectivity (channel isolation). However, such a method is usually inefficient in resource use. Examples include Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA), which requires large guard times depending on the application, or Frequency Division Multiple Access (FDMA) with very large guard bands between the frequency channels. The high selectivity is required for two reasons. First, each participant should be able to communicate with all other participants in his environment. It is therefore not possible to adjust the transmission power of the participants so that all signals arrive at each receiver with the same reception power. Consequently, in unfavorable situations, there are considerable performance differences between the transmissions on different channels at the location of a receiver (so-called "near-far" problem). Second, channel segregation schemes with lower selectivity usually suffer from the problem that a participant can not simultaneously transmit and receive in such a method, although the method does provide for simultaneous transmissions. Thus, a subscriber loses all transmissions (eg on other channels) simultaneously with his own transmission.
In practice, TDMA, z. B. for reasons of availability of radio spectrums, often the only way to channel separation with high selectivity. However, as already mentioned, for separation by TDMA, guard times must be maintained between the time domains (TDMA channels) reserved for the individual cells in order to absorb signal delays. If only TDMA channels are used for cell separation, protection intervals occur in one cycle ("frame") of the radio system N tot , which reduce the efficiency of the system. A frame is the time period within which the temporal structure of the medium access repeats itself.
The required protection time increases with the intended radio range and can vary depending on the application and physical propagation conditions, eg. As in aviation, be unfavorably large. If, in addition, the maximum duration of a frame is specified by requirements of an application (eg necessary update interval for a position broadcast), then the relative loss of resources due to the guard times can not be compensated for by extending the frame as a whole.
The invention has for its object to provide a cellular communication network and in particular a decentralized wireless communication network with a high selectivity and low self-interference.
The communication network according to the invention is defined by the features of
Of cells each having the same channels of the first multiple access method so each next adjacent cells are occupied with unequal channels of the second multiple access method. Different in this context means that two multiple access methods of the same kind but with different configuration of the parameters can also be used (eg FDMA with large guard bands as outer, first method and FDMA with small guard bands as inner, second method).
In other words, at least two multiple access methods are interleaved to channel-divide the cells. The advantage of interleaving cell repeat schemes with different access methods is the combinability of different media access methods in a cellular concept, e.g. To solve the hidden station problem more efficiently, the near-far problem, and the problem of simultaneous sending and receiving. Nesting can take advantage of all the techniques used.
In this case, preferably N 1 channels of the first and N 2 channels of the second multiple access method are provided in such a way that the communication network has a cell scheme with N ges = N 1 × N 2 different types of cells. In this case, more than just two multiple access methods can be used in nested form. So, therefore, can generally be a total of k different multiple access methods, each with N m, m = 1, ..., k, different channels are used such that the communications network comprises a cellular scheme with N tot = N 1 · N 2 · ... N k , The Zellwiederholschema the size N tot results here by successive Ineinanderverschachtelung of k Zellwiederholschemata the respective size N m.
In the case described, in a MANET, only the outer repeating scheme could use, for example, N 1 TDMA ranges (in general: high isolation multiple access schemes), while a second, inner scheme could use each of the N 1 TDMA ranges with a different method, e.g. As FDMA or CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access), further divided into N 2 channels. It should be noted that two neighboring cells basically belong to different types of cells (channels) of the outer schema, between which there is the high isolation afforded by TDMA. The demands for high isolation between the channels of adjacent cells and for a total of N 1 · N 2 = N ges channels are thus met. The number of necessary intercell protection times is now lower by a factor of N 2 than when using N ges pure TDMA channels (prior art).
Since two cells with identical TDMA assignment always have a certain distance dependent on N 1 , depending on the boundary conditions and the choice of N 1 , the second resource division (eg FDMA) can also be achieved with significantly less loss of efficiency (eg. Protective tapes at FDMA) as the first one.
Es zeigen:In the following an embodiment of the invention will be explained in more detail with reference to FIGS. Show it:
For channel isolation with high isolation TDMA should be used in this embodiment, for which there are in a time-repeating frame structure N A = 4 time ranges that can be assigned to the cells. These TDMA channels are subdivided by FDMA into N B = 4 additional frequency channels, which are so close together that only a moderate isolation between the frequency channels is achieved. As a result, the existing spectrum in the radio channel can be used more efficiently.
The described properties could also be achieved by 16 pure TDMA channels and a single cell scheme of this size (prior art). However, the loss of resources due to the guard times would be four times greater for the same frame duration. The proposed method is thus much more efficient than the prior art.
The combination of a first high-efficiency access method with a second lower-efficiency access method allows for low resource loss and geographic allocation of the resulting channels such that both high channel separation between adjacent areas is enabled by the first access method and the resource efficiency of the second method is utilized can.
