The invention relates to a headrest system having the features mentioned in the preamble of claim 1.

In order to increase the level of comfort that a vehicle can offer the vehicle occupants, it is known to use the rear of headrests of vehicle seats for the arrangement of devices, preferably from the field of entertainment, in order to provide the vehicle occupants in the rear seats with individual entertainment, such as the possibility of TV monitors or computer applications or the like. Such a solution is, for example, from DE 296 00 783 U1 known, which describes an integration of a television with an LCD flat screen in the headrest.

Other known solutions for arranging screens on headrests of vehicle seats are in DE 295 18 369 U1 as well as in the US 5,529,265A described.

In the case of the headrest for vehicle seats, the DE 295 18 369 U1 is known, a screen is arranged on the back of the headrest, which is integrated in a detachable from the headrest shaped body in a space intended to accommodate the headrest.

In the US 5,529,265A describes a vehicle seat in which the integrated display device is pivotably mounted in a receiving space of the headrest, but the headrest is not detachably attached to the backrest of the seat, but forms a structural unit with it.

It is also known from DE 201 19 410 U1 a vehicle seat with a headrest that can be detachably fastened to a backrest and with an integrated video device, for which the headrest has a receiving space, with the video device being fastened in the receiving space in a form-fitting and/or non-positive manner in the installed state between the headrest and the backrest.

The disadvantage is that each of the known headrests is specially prepared for a specific device, so that other devices can only be replaced by replacing the headrest or using special brackets like this DE 203 18 602 U1 discloses can be connected to a headrest.

The invention is therefore based on the object of creating a headrest system which, depending on the needs of the user, allows various devices to be optionally integrated into a headrest.

The starting point of the invention is a non-modular headrest system which has a headrest with a headrest formed in the rear receiving space for receiving a module/device in the headrest, as is the case, for example, in U.S. 2006/0148577 A1 is revealed.

From the DE 10 2005 020 276 B3 a headrest is also known which has a multi-part modular headrest box made up of a front part and a rear part. However, this headrest has no accommodation space in its headrest case.

Starting from the U.S. 2006/0148577 A1 the invention provides that a headrest box of the headrest has a modular structure and has at least one front box module and one rear box module with the receiving space arranged therein. In addition, according to the invention, provision is made for the provision of a plurality of interchangeable modules, which are matched to a size and/or a contour of the receiving space and which can be optionally integrated in the receiving space, for the rear receiving space provided in the headrest. In addition, the invention provides that each of the interchangeable modules arranged in the receiving space of the rear box module of the headrest box has interchangeable module areas that follow the contour of the headrest in the upper, rear and lower area of the receiving space, so that the interchangeable module areas of the interchangeable modules close off the receiving space of the headrest.

The fact that several interchangeable modules are provided in the headrest box of the headrest for the rear receiving space provided in a headrest, which are tailored to the size and/or contour of the receiving space and can be optionally integrated into the receiving space, ensures that different devices with different functions can be placed in a headrest system consisting of a headrest and various devices or modules [interchangeable modules] are available.

The headrest is advantageously formed from the headrest box, which has a modular structure.
