Abstract

Gegenstand der Erfindung ist eine Vorrichtung 1 zum Fügen von Teilen 3 aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff mit einer Stromversorgung 8, einem mit der Stromversorgung 8 verbundenen Strahler 5 zum Aufheizen der Teile 3 aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff im Bereich ihrer Fügeflächen 4, wobei der Strahler 5 so angeordnet ist, dass er der Fügefläche 4 des Teils 3 gegenüberliegt. Die der Fügefläche 4 zugewandte Seite des Strahlers 5 ist derart geformt, dass der bezogen auf die Fügefläche 4 senkrechte Abstand zwischen dem Strahler 5 und der Fügefläche 4 konstant ist.

Description

  • Die Erfindung betrifft eine Vorrichtung zum Fügen von Teilen aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff mit einer Stromversorgung, einem mit der Stromversorgung verbundenen Strahler zum Aufheizen der Teile aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff im Bereich ihrer Fügeflächen.
  • Es ist bekannt, Teile aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff miteinander zu verbinden, indem diese im Bereich ihrer Fügeflächen mit ultraviolettem oder infrarotem Licht bestrahlt werden. Infolge der Bestrahlung kommt es zur Aufheizung, wodurch diese Bereiche angeschmolzen werden, so dass nach dem Zusammenpressen der Teile durch den erkalteten Kunststoff eine stoffschlüssige Verbindung geschaffen wird. Mit diesem Verfahren ist es auch möglich, Teile aus unterschiedlichen Werkstoffen miteinander zu verbinden.
  • So ist es bekannt, ein aus Papier bestehendes Filterelement mit einem Gehäuse aus Kunststoff auf diese Weise zu verbinden, indem der Flansch des Kunststoffgehäuses angeschmolzen wird, dass Filterelement mit dem angeschmolzenen Kunststoff in Kontakt gebracht wird, so dass nach dem Erkalten des Kunststoffes ein fertiges Filterelement entsteht. Entscheidend für die Qualität der Verbindung des Flansches mit dem Filterelement ist die bei der Bestrahlung erzeugte Schmelztiefe. Die Fertigungskosten steigen dabei mit der Bestrahlungsintensität und der Bestrahlungsdauer stark an. Die Ausbildung der Fügeflächen mit einer Rippenstruktur ermöglicht ein schnelleres Aufheizen und somit kürzere Bestrahlungszeiten. Nachteilig ist, dass bei dreidimensional geformten Fügeflächen die Bestrahlungszeiten mit einer Rippenstruktur nicht wesentlich verkürzt werden kann.
  • Der Erfindung liegt die Aufgabe zugrunde, die Bestrahlungszeiten von Teilen mit dreidimensional geformten Fügeflächen zu verringern.
  • Diese Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, dass die der Fügefläche zugewandte Seite des Strahlers derart geformt ist, dass der bezogen auf die Fügefläche senkrechte Abstand zwischen dem Strahler und der Fügefläche konstant ist.
  • Durch diese Gestaltung des Strahlers ist dieser an die Oberflächenkontur der Fügefläche angepasst. Damit werden alle Bereiche der Fügefläche gleichmäßig aufgeheizt, bzw. angeschmolzen, wodurch eine gleiche Qualität der Verbindung über den gesamten Bereich der Fügefläche erreicht wird. Insbesondere lassen sich dadurch auch bei dreidimensional geformten Fügeflächen fehlerfreie Verbindungen erzeugen.
  • Der Strahler gestaltet sich gemäß einer vorteilhaften Ausgestaltung besonders einfach, wenn er als Infrarot- oder Ultraviolett-Strahler ausgebildet ist, d.h., das Aufheizen der Fügefläche erfolgt durch die Abstrahlung von infrarotem oder ultraviolettem Licht durch den Strahler.
  • Die Erfindung lässt zahlreiche Ausführungsformen zu. Zur weiteren Verdeutlichung ihres Grundprinzips sind zwei davon in der Zeichnung dargestellt und werden nachfolgend beschrieben. Diese zeigt in
  • 1: eine erfindungsgemäße Vorrichtung mit einem Strahler und
  • 2: eine weitere Ausführungsform des Strahlers aus 1 im Querschnitt.
  • 1 zeigt eine Vorrichtung 1 zum Fügen von Teilen aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff. Die Vorrichtung 1 besitzt eine Auflagefläche 2, auf der ein Teil 3 positioniert ist. Das Teil 3 ist ein Gehäuseteil, welches durch Verbindung mit einem anderen Teil ein Gehäuse bildet. Die Verbindung mit dem anderen Teil erfolgt über eine stoffschlüssige Verbindung. Das Teil 3 besitzt eine dreidimensionale Fügefläche 4, die in Form eines Flansches umlaufend am Umfang des Teils 3 angeordnet ist.
  • Oberhalb der Fügefläche 4 ist ein Infrarot-Strahler 5 angeordnet, der über elektrische Leitungen 6, 7 mit einer Stromversorgung 8 der Vorrichtung 1 verbunden ist. Der Strahler 5 ist in seiner räumlichen Ausdehnung derart an die Fügefläche 4 angepasst, dass der senkrechte Abstand zwischen der Fügefläche 4 und dem Strahler 5 bezogen auf die Fügefläche 4 konstant ist. Mit dem konstanten Abstand des Strahlers 5 zu der Fügefläche 4 wird ein gleichmäßiges Aufheizen der Fügefläche 4 unabhängig von deren geometrischen Ausbildung erreicht, was eine gleichmäßige Qualität der stoffschlüssigen Verbindung gewährleistet.
  • 2 zeigt den Strahler 5 aus 1 im Schnitt A-A, der oberhalb der Fügefläche 4 des Teils 3 angeordnet ist. Über dem Strahler 5 ist ein Strahlungsschirm 9 angeordnet, der die Ausbreitung von vom Strahler 5 nach oben abgegebener Infrarotstrahlung begrenzt und diese durch Reflexion in Richtung des Teils 3 lenkt.

Claims (3)

  1. Vorrichtung zum Fügen von Teilen aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff mit einer Stromversorgung, einem mit der Stromversorgung verbundenen Strahler zum Aufheizen der Teile aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff im Bereich ihrer Fügeflächen, wobei der Strahler so angeordnet ist, dass er der Fügefläche des Teils gegenüberliegt, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass die der Fügefläche (4) zugewandte Seite des Strahlers (5) derart geformt ist, dass der bezogen auf die Fügefläche (4) senkrechte Abstand zwischen dem Strahler (5) und der Fügefläche (4) konstant ist.
  2. Vorrichtung zum Fügen von Teilen aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff nach Anspruch 1, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass der Strahler (5) als Infrarot- oder Ultraviolett-Strahler ausgebildet ist.
  3. Vorrichtung zum Fügen von Teilen aus thermoplastischem Kunststoff nach Anspruch 1 oder 2, dadurch gekennzeichnet, dass auf der dem Teil (3) abgewandten Seite des Strahlers (5) ein Strahlungsschirm (10) angeordnet ist.
