Abstract
Skull crucible comprises a base plate and a cooling side wall having a limiting element with a plate (24) made from a full material having a planar melting contact surface (25), a base surface (26) for holding the limiting element on the base plate, an outer surface (27) and connecting surfaces (208, 209). The plate has a channel (4) through which a cooling medium flows. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) Limiting element for the skull crucible; (2) Valve for the skull crucible; and (3) Method for melting and/or refining glass using the above skull crucible.
