Abstract

Method for monitoring a blower (2) of a heater unit by measuring its speed. At a predefined speed, a signal proportional to the loading of the blower is measured and stored. At a later time point at an identical speed the proportional signal is again measured. The signal values are then compared and in there is a significant difference that indicates an increase in blower loading, a signal for initiating maintenance is generated. An independent claim is made for a method for monitoring a blower in which its loading is monitored and at a predefined loading a signal proportional to the blower speed is recorded. If this signal varies significantly when next measured, maintenance is initiated.
