Abstract

Chamber furnace has chambers which are formed by transverse walls (3) and heating walls (2) which contain processing gas channels. The heating walls are spaced from the transverse walls in the area through which the gas flows, forming free spaces (8) over the chambers whose average width is more than half the expected thermal change in length of the heating wall. An independent claim is included for a heating wall for use in the furnace with a connecting section (22) linking it to the transverse wall, forming a free space over the chambers whose average width is more than half the expected thermal change in length of the heating wall.
