Description
The The invention relates to a binder for bonding wood and / or Plant materials or for the production of moldings Wood and / or plant materials. The invention further relates to Use of a binder and moldings of wood and / or plant materials, in which the wood and / or plant materials with the binder according to the invention are glued.
Traditionell werden zur Herstellung von Formkörpern aus Holzwerkstoffen sowohl Harnstoff-Formaldehyd- (UF), Melamin-Formaldehyd- (MF) , Melamin-Harnstoff-Formaldehyd- (MUF) als auch Melamin-Harnstoff-Phenol-Formaldehyd-Harze (MUPF), Phenol-Formaldehyd (PF), Phenol-Harnstoff-Formaldehyd (PUF) und polymeres Diisocyanat (PMDI) verwendet.Traditionally be used for the production of moldings from wood-based materials both urea-formaldehyde (UF), melamine-formaldehyde (MF) , Melamine-urea-formaldehyde (MUF) as well as melamine-urea-phenol-formaldehyde resins (MUPF), Phenol-formaldehyde (PF), phenol-urea-formaldehyde (PUF) and polymeric diisocyanate (PMDI) used.
Hierbei
Diese Bindemittel werden sowohl in wässriger Lösung als auch in Pulverform als sprühgetrocknete Leime verwendet.at these binders are usually alkali-curing resols, when prepared, phenol with a molar excess of formaldehyde, i. in one molar ratio of phenol: formaldehyde of <1 is reacted in alkaline medium. These binders are both in water solution as well as in powder form as spray-dried Glues used.
Of the Manufacturing process of spray-dried Glues is expensive and expensive. A disadvantage of the aqueous Systems is the limited reactivity, which only by significant additions can be improved in urea. Urea-free or only very Low urea-modified resols have a gel time 100 ° C of about 25-50 Min. At an alkali content of about 7-12 wt .-%.
Higher reactive Resole receives one by one longer Condensation during the production, but which also leads to very viscous products, which only by loosening be brought into a workable state in urea can. adversely Here are the significant amounts of urea, which are usually 10-40 Wt .-%, based on the weight of resol, and the resulting low shelf life of the urea-modified resole of about 2-3 weeks. Due to this high urea content, these resins are only in a Alkalianteil of less than 5% by weight storable, which limits their use.
The Gelling times at 100 ° C Such resoles are greater than 10 min. Their use is due to the small share of alkali on the Cover layers of multilayer wood-based panels limited.
Want you use these resols in the badly heated middle layers, Thus, immediately before the processing, an increase of the Alkali portion to about 7-12 % By weight necessary.
Nevertheless are also in these systems, the cure rates for use in the worse heat Middle layer bounded by multilayer wood-based panels, resulting in the increased use of alternative binders, usually PMDI (polymeric diisocyanate) leads.
Of further, ground novolacs, i. Phenol-formaldehyde resins, in their preparation phenol with a molar deficiency of formaldehyde, i.e. a molar ratio of phenol: formaldehyde of> 1 is reacted in an acidic medium used. This is preferably in the milling process hardeners, e.g. Hexamethylenetetramine, added, which then during the Processing the necessary formaldehyde potential for curing the Novolaks releases. Novolacs without curing agents behave thermoplastic. The disadvantage here is in particular the price and the handling and the uniform application of the binder powder on the materials to be glued.

The gel time at 100 ° C was determined as follows:
5.0 g ± 0.1 g of the binder mixture are weighed into a test tube without any binder adhering to the wall of the test tube. The test tube is subsequently placed in a heating bath at a temperature of 100 ° C. The gel time is measured by raising a glass rod immersed in the test tube at intervals. Gelation is achieved when the binder no longer pulls threads when lifting the glass rod.
This Time is generally referred to as gel time in the context of the invention.
Herstellung von Komponente (A)Production of component (A)
Watery Novolac was made by condensation of phenol and formaldehyde in acid pH value range of about pH 1 produced.
