Abstract
Description
Wind turbines with rotor blades of various kinds are already longer known. It is also known that in certain situations the Wind turbine must be equipped with a danger fire to the Air traffic in the area of the wind turbine in time for the existence of To indicate wind energy plant. It is also known for the above purpose, the To provide rotor blades with mostly red warning paints, so that the collision of a Aircraft, in particular a military aircraft, with a wind turbine or whose rotor can be avoided.
Also, the proposal has already been made to improve the warning for the air traffic at the rotor blade tips of the rotor blades, in addition to the coloring with signal colors, incandescent or other bulbs to use, which then at Night are turned on and thus can be well recognized by air traffic. The disadvantage of incandescent lamps or other bulbs, however, is that They only have a limited shelf life and the cost of that Exchanging used bulbs in no reasonable relation to Benefit. So can the cost of replacing bulbs The rotor blade tip amount to several thousand DM, because not only the very expensive Wind turbine must be stopped, but also the service staff by means of a crane device from the tower of the wind turbine or from Ground in front of the wind turbine from brought to the rotor blade tip must become.
This effort is in stark disproportion to the actual technical failure.
As a way out, therefore, has already been proposed, the Lighting device on the rotor blade tip redundant perform. But also one Conception can not always prevent it from a failure of the lighting comes, with the reasons for the failure of the bulbs are extremely different can, be it that the bulbs at the rotor blade tip mechanically be damaged (coincide with particles, hail, rain, etc.) or that the respective electrical contacts are interrupted or other reasons.
The object of the invention is to avoid the aforementioned disadvantages and a more reliable than previously proposed lighting the rotor blade tips be provided with any occurring damage is no longer as complex as before, but can be eliminated very quickly.
The object is achieved with the invention with the features of claim 1. Advantageous developments are described in the subclaims.
The invention is based on the idea of the entire bulb from the Tip area (rotor blade tip) of the rotor blades in the region near the hub, z. B. the Hub of the rotor itself, to relocate. If a bulbs fails then it can be replaced by the service very easily and very uncomplicated.
While the bulbs, so a light-generating device such. B. a Laser or a light emitting diode or a plurality thereof, in the nacelle of Wind turbine is housed, the light generated is in a fiber optic cable (Optical fiber, optical fiber) fed, which in turn into the tip area the rotor blade is laid and there on the surface of the rotor blade so is arranged so that the light can easily escape.
Even if, which is very unlikely, it will once damage the Endbereich the optical fiber should come in the tip area, this does not to the failure of the entire optical fiber, but this will continue to be Light, which is guided by him, radiate. But there is no in the tip area are electrical elements, the optical fibers are very protected.
The invention proposes in addition to the above or alternatively, the Also to use optical fiber for any load measurements on the Make the rotor blade yourself.
For this purpose, reference is generally made to the following: Is in a light guide light registered, this light reflects in the interior of this conductor to appropriate Edges and continues until the exit at the end of the light guide.
From the quotient of the amount of light entered to the amount of light emitted can also be a value for the quality to accept, with the quality in the optimal case is one, so if the amount of light fed into the light guide of the intensity (Lumen) corresponds to the amount of light at the exiting end of the light guide.
The quality of light guides is not only based on the material of the Light guide or the type of light introduced, but also after the Laying the light guide. For example, is the light guide along a straight line misplaced, the quality is regularly greater than when the light guide in different Serpentines or arches or other radii of curvature having geometries is relocated.
Also, a movement of the light guide transversely to its direction of stretching causes the continuation of the light inside the light guide is partially restricted, which means that the quality decreases overall.
This - last mentioned - effect can be found in a rotor blade of a Wind turbine according to the invention also make use of, the Deflection of the rotor blade to measure optically / electrically, by a light guide quasi as a loop, starting from the rotor hub via a specific guide in the Rotor blade over the rotor blade tip and back to the hub is performed. At the exiting end of the light guide then becomes a corresponding detector arranged, which measures the intensity of the exiting light and these exiting Amount of light is transmitted via a corresponding processing device (processor) constantly set in relation to the amount of light entering the light guide.
If now with increasing load of the rotor blade (increasing Wind speed) that bends more and more, this automatically leads to a deteriorated or changed quality and from the concrete goodness derive a measure for the mechanical load of the rotor blade.
With the aforementioned variant of the invention, thus, the burden can be a rotor blade not only integral to the hub, rotor blade root, but also in single points, especially in the leaf tip area, notice and one possibly overstretching of the rotor blade tip due to a gust or another Event can be detected very quickly, and at the same time can be exploited, possibly stop the wind turbine or a Adjusting the rotor blade angle (pitch) to make the unwanted To exclude overstretch, because such overloads regularly to a Significantly shorten the life of the rotor blades and thus the entire Wind turbine can lead.
It goes without saying that the light guides on the most diverse Geometries in the rotor blade itself or below the topmost layer of the rotor blade or can be performed on the rotor blade. It's not just a direct back and forth Return from the rotor blade root to the rotor blade tip on one side or on different sides of the rotor blade possible, but also the spiral Winding of the entire rotor blade from the rotor blade root to the Rotor blade tip and back or there may also be different bundles of optical fibers over most different geometrical courses of the rotor blade (or in the rotor blade itself) be misplaced.
The more a light guide in bending the rotor blade from its longitudinal direction is brought, the higher will regularly be the decline in the quality and through a skillful measurement and permutation of the forward and return lines Under certain circumstances, determine exactly where an undesirable overstretching a rotor blade has taken place or takes place.
The advantage of laying the optical fibers in or on the rotor blade is also in that this laying already during the production of the rotor blades can be done and the light guide itself are extremely robust on a regular basis and since the Light guides themselves are not electrically conductive, they are therefore already good against possible interference by lightning in the rotor of the wind turbine protected.
In addition, with the light (wave) ladders a possible overload of the Rotor blades are measured much faster than for example with a Strain gauges (strain gauges) or other measuring device, the mechanical Load on a rotor blade integral in the hub area or blade root area of the Rotor blade measures. Because of the light detector at the exiting end of the Fiber optic also equal an electrical signal on the intensity of the exiting Light is ready, this electrical signal can also be one Remote monitoring station of the wind turbine fed directly and there accordingly evaluated and used for a very rapid intervention in the plant, if automatic positioning devices are not already provided, the If a certain grade falls below a system control or Make change that leads to a relief of the rotor blades.
When laying the optical fibers as rotor blade tip lighting (Tip- Lighting) it may also be appropriate that the tip lighting does not exceed the entire revolution of the rotor is turned on, but only then when the respective rotor blade is in an area between the nine o'clock and Three o'clock position (the rotor blade turns clockwise) is or preferred only in the range between the ten o'clock and two o'clock position.
Also it is possible not only by the supply of light by means of diodes to feed monochrome white light into the optical fiber, but also different colored light and by the corresponding exit of the Fiber optic cable at the rotor blade tip can direct the light also in different directions are radiated to increase the intensity of the ends of the Optical waveguide are provided with a corresponding lens, which in turn also the corresponding end of the optical waveguide protects again.
Darin zeigen: The invention is based on a concrete embodiment below shown. Show:
Fig. 1 ein erstes Ausführungsbeispiel eines erfindungsgemäßen Rotorblatts, Fig. 1 a first embodiment of an inventive rotor blade,
Fig. 2 ein alternatives weiteres Ausführungsbeispiel eines Rotorblatts. Fig. 2 shows an alternative further embodiment of a rotor blade.
Fig. 1 shows a rotor blade 10 with a thereon (or therein) laid optical fiber 14 which is laid in meandering fashion in the area of the rotor blade tip 15. At one terminal of the optical waveguide 14 , a light diode 16 is arranged and at the other terminal a corresponding light-receiving diode 18 is arranged. With the light diode, light is fed into the optical waveguide and the receiving diode 18 receives the light which has passed through the optical waveguide.
Now, before the wind turbine is put into operation and the rotor blade is completely undeflected (that is no longer deformed by the wind), now reference measurements are made, wherein in the light receiving unit 18, the amount of light received is measured. The percentage of light is usually expressed in a percentage, the percentage is always below 100%. At a measured value of 100%, the entire light emitted by the transmitting unit 16 would have to arrive through the optical waveguide 14 in the receiving unit 18 and the quality would then be 1.
Now, when the wind turbine is put into operation, this also leads to the fact that the entire rotor blade is deflected especially in the tip region due to the wind and dynamic pressure. This is accompanied at the same time a change in the original position of the optical waveguide, which regularly leads to a different reflection path within the optical waveguide. The consequence of this is regularly a reduction of the light output compared to the reference state and this lower light yield is measured in the receiving unit 18 .
Consequently, a measure of the deflection of the rotor blade can also be determined by the light quantity measurement (light modulation measurement) in the receiving unit 18 (or light modulation measurement), since the quality of deflection of the blade is below the quality in the reference state.
If certain overstresses of a rotor blade are undesirable, i. H. the goodness falls below a predetermined value, this can also be done by means of the invention be monitored and if necessary, the measured data to do so be used to turn off the entire wind turbine for self-protection.
The above alternative according to the invention also has the advantage that at a possible hairline crack in the rotor blade of the wind energy plant, wherein the hairline crack in Essentially transversely to the light guide runs, the light guide torn off very quickly so that the entire light transmission will not only be disturbed, but also can collapse. This demolition of a light guide can therefore take place because the optical fiber regularly with respect to their length extension extremely are designed porous and are only slightly elastic. If now by a Haarriss the light transmission through the light guide is sensitive disturbed, the entire plant are stopped and the rotor blade early on very carefully possibly hairline cracks are examined.
Anlage. In Fig. 1, the device for further processing of the measured light is not shown. These may be conventional devices that generate an electrical signal from the measured amount of light and the corresponding electrical signal is then further processed in a processor or other processing device so that the light amount of the received light is determined, which then also possibly can be set in relation to the amount of light entered into the light guide. From this difference value, the value for the quality (amount of emitted light / amount of received light) can be derived directly. It is advisable to provide in a corresponding memory a table for certain grades, in the case of which they can be taken below or exceeded correspondingly desired measures in the wind turbine, for example, the shutdown of the. Investment.
Fig. 2 shows, alternatively or in addition to the solution according to Fig. 1, a bundle of optical fibers, which are laid from the hub of the rotor blade (rotor blade root) to the rotor blade tip (Tip). In the hub area, light is fed into the optical waveguide by means of a luminaire 14 , and in the tip area, the light emerges from the optical waveguides, so that the tip area shines well at least at night and the aviation is made aware of the wind energy plant.
Of course, the aforementioned alternatives can also be combined with each other, so that in addition to a lit tip and a monitoring of the light bending of a rotor blade can be made. The lamp 14 may in this case also represent a light emitting diode.
It goes without saying that the activation of the lights 14 and 16 can be made dependent on the respective time of day, darkness or the respective position of a single rotor blade, for. B. Turn on the lights when a rotor blade is in a 10:00 to 12:00 o'clock position.
