Abstract
Description
The invention relates to an arrangement and a method Identification of products, which are represented by graphic or textual characters are marked.
The safe and reliable identification of products is becoming more and more important. Products often have to be already clear during the manufacturing process be labeled so that under Quality assurance programs the individual processing or handling steps are clearly understandable. This can cause mistakes or understand problems in the process chain or can even be avoided in advance. A clear one Labeling of the products before delivery to the customer is often necessary to make warranty claims to be able to check and also unlicensed reproductions of to be able to differentiate between your own products. Especially with the verification of warranty claims is one Clear identification is particularly important so that the Manufacturer of the product is clearly identifiable and the manufacturing process can also be fully traced can. It is particularly advantageous here, if not just that Batch of the product is labeled, but a individual labeling of individual products takes place. A such individual labeling is also with the Combating illegal copies of the product is helpful. So can the individual origin clearly proven become. Counterfeit-proof is particularly important here Type of labeling.
There are different ways to identify individual products known. For example, as with medication mostly the case is a batch number on the packaging be attached. With surgical instruments often engraved with a serial number and with electronic ones Devices such as computer systems are becoming common a serial number in the form of a sticker on the case appropriate. In addition to one from a human A barcode is often added to the readable number or other code that is machine readable. Such identification is for identification for example in German Offenlegungsschrift 198 22 751 A1 described. The attachment of a serial number is in one in such cases irrelevant for the function of the device and hardly disturbs the appearance of the device, since the Serial number is small compared to the dimensions of the device and also be attached to an inconspicuous place can.
However, there are also a variety of products in which due to their size or due to design requirements affixing serial numbers or others Identification information is not possible in a conventional manner. Such a product is, for example, spectacle lenses. The Attaching an identification like a serial number on the one hand, the external appearance of the lenses disturb and on the other hand the field of vision of the glasses wearer affect.
Is a product identification in the fight against Product pirates are used, so it would be desirable if this Product identification for the normal viewer is not would be recognizable. This is with a conventional one Serial number not possible.
The invention has for its object a system for To represent product identification, which is the previous one avoids disadvantages mentioned and almost without Impairment of the design or functionality of the product is attachable. Product identification should continue not visible to the naked eye for the normal viewer his.
An inventive solution to this problem is in the independent claims. Further training of the Invention are the subject of the dependent claims.
The embodiment of the invention includes an identification of the products, which are for the human Eye is noticeable and preferably a rough one Allows identification of the product. Such labeling can be executed as text or graphics, for example. It can be a trademark or other symbol Identification of the product, the product category or the manufacturer. This labeling still includes a multitude of smallest Information elements that are not perceived by the human eye as such are noticeable. These information elements contain in encoded form the information for identification. she are designed or arranged so that the human viewers in these pieces of information the label or the entire label recognizes.
For example, a symbol made up of small dots as Information elements shown in a dot matrix become. The coding can be done in many ways be designed. For example, single points be present or not be present, being straight out existing or nonexistent points Identification information can be obtained. has if the point matrix has a sufficient number of points, we get depending on the information content, a pattern of points, which nevertheless represents the symbol in essential traits. However, the information elements can also be made from alphanumeric characters or other symbols. The significant difference from the prior art so that not different labels or areas for labeling for one of human eye perceivable labeling as well as coding of identification information are used, but that just the arrangement of the identification information in the form of a human eye perceivable Labeling replicates this.
The term product identification refers to here a clear identification of a product or a group of products. Of course you can in addition to the product identification data Information such as the batch number or the Manufacturer can be coded with.
In the following, the term " Information element on a symbol or the location to represent such a symbol. Such Symbols can be single pixels, alphanumeric characters or other elements like geometric figures or patterns, the properties of which represent Information can be used.
In the case of a binary representation, the information element called active if there is a logical "1" value represents, when representing a logical "0" value it's called passive. Can the information elements assume different intermediate values, these are designated accordingly.
In a particularly advantageous embodiment of the Invention, the information elements are designed such that it not from the human eye as a single one Information elements are recognizable. Such a design can for example, by training in correspondingly smaller Size of these information elements. Likewise can the color design or the shape of the Information elements are designed accordingly. For example can remove these information items themselves graphic symbols, letters or even trademarks exist. For example, a single piece of information would be as Stylized letter "R" with a font height of 80 Micrometer realizable. With the naked eye, this is not as Recognizable letter.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention is the marking in or on one preferably attached homogeneous substrate. Through this homogeneous Substrate results in a closed surface, whereby a much more recognizable one for the viewer Image impression and usually a simpler production results. Ideally, this substrate is identical to one Surface of the product to be labeled.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention is the marking in or on one Glass support applied.
A particularly advantageous embodiment consists of that labeling in particular on a spectacle lens is appropriate. One thing is particularly true for spectacle lenses coding according to the invention of the identification from the previously reasons described are particularly important.
Another advantageous embodiment of the invention is that the marking by means of laser engraving is appropriate. The process of laser engraving enables High-resolution information in the smallest of spaces accommodate. In addition, according to the current state of the art single points with a diameter of 5 to 10 microns can be generated. It can also be used in very small labels still large amounts of information encode.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention the identification information is provided by individual Pixels or information elements are binary coded.
In a further embodiment, the division is one Identification in individual information elements by a digital grid specified.
In a further advantageous embodiment, only selected halftone dots as information elements for coding the identification information is provided.
As a further embodiment of the invention, others Properties of the information elements for coding intended. These are, for example, color values, Brightness values, transmission values or also the scatter. Here is Multi-level coding is also possible. So can for example, the information elements in several, for example five different brightness levels or color levels are shown. Leave with it encode even larger amounts of information, as well as the Coding even stronger in the eye of the beholder conceal.
Another advantageous embodiment consists in that the information elements are alphanumeric characters include. Such alphanumeric characters are for example letters, numbers or other special characters. Consequently can also be identified using a sequence of digits and letters. The information can now be obtained through the Alphanumeric characters themselves or by their Design such as colors, brightness values, Line widths or other properties can be encoded. The The arrangement of the alphanumeric characters can optionally be such that these are to be read as a text or in any orientation, so no connection between the individual characters are recognizable.
An advantageous embodiment comprises Information elements in the form of geometric figures or patterns. Such figures or patterns can for example, rectangles, diamonds, circles or others. Here too can encode the information by the figure or the pattern itself or its properties respectively.
Another advantageous embodiment of the invention is that a much larger range of values of Information elements is provided as for coding the Identification information is needed and from this for displaying the identification information only one restricted range of values of the information elements is selected. This range of values is selected in such a way that for the viewer of the labeling a possible gives a clear picture. For example, Information elements shown in five different shades of gray binary encoding of the information done by only one of the optimal ones Representation of the marking adapted gray level the value 0 symbolizes and a gray level increased by only one value represents a value of 1. This results in the Coding only slight changes in the optical effect the labeling.
In a further advantageous embodiment of the invention much more information elements are provided than necessary for coding the identification information are. In order to achieve the most appealing optical effect possible Achieving labeling is now from this multitude of Information elements those set of Information elements selected which have the least influence on the Have representation of the label.
An advantageous embodiment is that the Information elements are grouped together. Furthermore, a maximum number is allowed in such a group of information elements of a certain kind be crossed, be exceeded, be passed. For example, with a group of 4 possible information elements a gray value of 50 percent are represented with this group to coding different arrangements, each with two active and two inactive information elements can be realized, whereby for the viewer, the individual information elements cannot optically resolve, always a medium value represents. The information is in the order of the active or inactive information elements within the Group included.
Another embodiment is that the Information elements are arranged in pairs and one each Information element of these pairs active and the other is inactive. This results for the viewer who has this Information elements can not optically resolve, always one average value of 50 percent of the brightness, transmission or the color value or another Property.
As a further embodiment, much more will be done Information elements provided as for coding the Identification information is necessary, by means of this Information elements an individual representation of the Labeling is done. This representation of the label can now be optimized for the effect on the viewer. It is essential here that to display the Identification of individual configurations of the labeling are used, which differ at least slightly from the distinguish other configurations of the marking. Such differences can, for example, in color individual pixels, in a lateral offset whole Rows of pixels or an arrangement of the Pixels such that there is a label with a slightly modified scale results to be included. at This type of design can thus, for example, if too many bright ones in a usually dark place Pixels would disturb the appearance, the coding by other light or dark pixels other places are completed. The terms of bright or dark pixels are only here used for clarity. A pixel can for example, if he has a marker opposite the Depending on the situation, the refractive power environment changes Illumination can be bright, invisible or dark. Essential this is the presence or absence of a pixel.
A method according to the invention for the identification of Objects is carried out by the fact that a Label is attached to these objects, which for the human eye perceptible graphic or textual Contains items. Furthermore, this labeling is made a multitude of smallest information elements composed, which in coded form the information Have identification of the items.
The invention is hereinafter without limitation general inventive concept based on exemplary embodiments by way of example with reference to the drawings described.

In Fig. 1 a representation of a stylized letter (1) is exemplified by a plurality of information elements in a greatly enlarged scale of 50: 1 outlines. In one part of the letter, the information elements are designed as alphanumeric characters ( 2 ), while in another part of the letter, the information elements are pixels ( 3 ) for representing binary coding. Such a letter is introduced into the surface of a spectacle lens, for example, by laser engraving. The total size of the letter can be, for example, 2.5 millimeters.
Fig. 2 shows an example of a reduced representation of Fig. 1, which is enlarged by a factor of 5: 1 compared to the original to give an impression of the optical effect of the stylized letter ( 1 ).
A stylized letter ( 10 ) is shown by way of example in FIG. 3, in which the information elements are exclusively pixels for representing binary coding. The pixels are grouped together in groups, with exactly one first pixel ( 11 ) bright and one second pixel ( 12 ) dark in each group. The information is now contained in the assignment of light or dark pixels. In this example, the stylized letter is composed of 64 groups of points. This results in the possibility of displaying 2 64 = 1.8.10 19 different combinations.

FIG. 9 shows, by way of example, the coding of information by means of light dots ( 41 ) and dark dots ( 42 ) or dots of different refractive powers, such as can be introduced into an eyeglass lens by laser engraving. Instead of light or dark points, coding can also be carried out with points of different colors or points and empty spaces where there are no points.
In Fig. 10, a binary coding is represented by groups of pixels, each group consists of just one bright point (41) and a dark point (42). In this example, two points lying one above the other are arranged in a group. The information is given by the arrangement of the points within the groups. For example, the group of a light point ( 41 ) and a dark point ( 42 ) can represent a logical 0, while the group of a dark point ( 43 ) and a light point ( 44 ) represents a logical 1 .
