Worldwide there are many slaughter animals that are transferable through BSE and others Diseases are life-threatening for many people. So it is known that until March 2001 95 young people fell ill with nvCJD. Certainly not on living animals, but BSE cannot be determined with 100% certainty even on dead people; u. a. also because of the long incubation period of BSE. For young animals at all no useful test in sight yet. This uncertainty will change over the next Time increasing. So long no tests on flawless live animals BSE diagnosis must be available in animals that are also post-diagnosis repeated clinical examination the slightest doubts exist on BSE, further examined according to the instructions of the veterinarian and killed if necessary become. The head has to be severed so that the brain is removed and histologically can be examined for BSE. Since it is not yet known whether BSE dams can also infect their offspring, the BSE risk remains an great danger to people.
The Bavarian Minister of State for Health, Nutrition and Consumer Protection, Mr. Eberhard Sinner, reported on July 31, 2001 in Munich that a tenths of a gram of animal product contaminated with BSE can trigger an infection. Mr Minister Sinner fears that it will continue to exist in the EU by the end of May 2001 discovered 181,542 BSE-sick cattle there are a million more. In So far, 90 BSE cases have been registered in Germany. Variants of the BSE Disease exists worldwide, not only in cattle and wild animals, etc.
The state of the art on "alternative slaughtering methods" was on 02.03.01 in the BR program "Our country" comprehensively documented, on the following reference is taken.
So far, cattle are in the middle of the spine immediately after slaughter sawn through (according to meat hygiene law).
But when splitting the spine, BSE risk material, in particular Spinal cord, spray on other pieces of meat or spread with the saw blade and the Environment. But that's exactly what you want to prevent now, that's why the butchers are feverishly looking for new slaughtering methods. The ganglia, the Nerve endings of the spinal cord, sit right and left between the vertebrae. Also they must not be cut so that no risk material is released here can be.
In the case of a Tbc finding, inclusions and See casings that are here in the bone area, in the spine area would manifest and the TB diagnosis could be documented here "(Dr. Franz Hierl, veterinarian).
With the saddle method, the carcass is not immediately in the middle as usual sawed apart, but all the beef comes into the cold room. The next Then the whole spine is cut out during the day. So he comes Butcher not in touch with the back market at all. The saddle with the Valuable pieces of meat must be carefully removed from the spine with a knife be replaced. But this disassembly of the chilled meat parts is tedious and takes a long time, it is faster immediately after slaughter, if that Meat is still warm. The problem with this is that the butcher cuts the meat in Slaughtering slaughter room and this is not permitted under the meat hygiene law is.
All of these methods work at most for the butcher, on the slaughter line in the Slaughterhouses are taking far too long. There is also for cattle halves No trade classes without bones; but these are a sales advance setting. And finally, loosening the spine would cause problems in the Prepare cold store. For example, 800 halves of cattle hang there in a very small space; undivided carcasses could no longer cool properly and begin stink.
The object of the invention described in the introduction becomes as follows according to the invention reached: the separation of slaughter animals happens a. by LASER, um especially to avoid contamination of food. At the chipless cutting, cutting of slaughter animals using LASER Cut surface automatically welded if required; a transfer of Pathogens are avoided. According to the current state of the art about 60 animals (cattle) slaughtered in the slaughterhouses per hour. If at When the first slaughter animal, for example, is BSE, everyone starts working following animals using the aseptic cutting tools (saws, etc.) contaminated.
The animals killed are, as before, supported by conveyors up to Workstation "separating the spine" transported. Here is the Spine separated using LASER (instead of sawing) so that two carcasses arise.

-
- Ersten Takt (Vorschneiden)
First, only the meat on the middle of the spine up to its cartilage is divided with cutting tools (knife, rigid or rotating or oscillating, piezo-electric drive, possibly circular saws) and this longitudinal cut forms the dividing line for the LASER. The cutting tools of all types can be supplied with a non-life-threatening current in order to keep the tools germ-free and possibly to heat them, as a result of which a higher cutting performance can be achieved. -
- Zweiter Takt (LASER-Fertigschnitt)
The cartilage of the spine exposed by the first bar is cut using LASER; two carcass halves are then created.
Permanent time and costly sterilization measures are no longer required according to the invention by the aforementioned method. In addition, the LASER separation process allows constant optimization to: Example cuts not only on the spine.
