Abstract
The universal chemical detoxifier is suitable for detoxification of Yperit, Sarin, VX and other analogous toxic compounds under field conditions, in industry and in the laboratory. The detoxifying agent can be used in an organic inert solvent system, depending on the solubility of the chemical warfare agent or other toxic compounds. The universal chemical detoxification agent consists of a solution of peracetic acid or one of its esters with a minimum concentration of 0.05% dissolved in a non-oxidisable organic base.
Description
Charakteristik der bekannten technischen LösungenCharacteristic of the known technical solutions
So far, detoxification liquids are known in which the active compounds are dissolved either in aqueous systems or in nonaqueous systems.
However, non-aqueous systems achieve their effectiveness only in complete absence of water, are usually flammable and can not be field-produced.
Disadvantage of the aqueous solutions is that for detoxification additional manual processing is required to mix the toxic component with the detoxification fluid. The predominantly used calcium hypochlorite also has the disadvantage that its solubility in water is relatively low and its universal detoxification effect can only be achieved over a small pH range.
Another disadvantage is that when using binary warfare agent mixtures with the expected excess of sulfidic Antoilen the oxidation capacity no longer meets the requirements.
Ziel der ErfindungObject of the invention
The aim of the invention are universally applicable liquid detoxifying agents whose solvents solve all known chemical warfare agents and their tactical mixtures and analogous toxic compounds for the purpose of detoxification and thus require no manual processing for mixing.
Darlegung des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation of the essence of the invention
The object of the invention is to find a detoxifying substance that can be introduced into different solvent systems and acts universally detoxifying in the presence of organic bases. It has been found that a solution of peracetic acid having a minimum concentration of 0.05% in a chemically inert solvent with an organic base such. As dimethylformamide (DMF) or N-methyl-e-caprolactam (ε-NMC) against all known chemical warfare agents and analog toxic compounds universally detoxifies acts. The amount of peracetic acid to be used depends on the particular application and depends on the basicity of the organic base.
In the acidic area, peracetic acid detoxifies only against Yperit and V-agents as well as analogous toxic compounds.
By choosing the organic solvent of suitable basicity, depending on the application, it is possible to produce a mixture of optimal detoxifying activity. This is possible even under field conditions by mixing the detoxifying agent with the appropriate solvent and organic base.
