The invention relates to an ink jet print head for single or multi-color ink jet printing devices with demand-oriented drop ejection, in particular its channel guidance and training, the application of which is equally possible as appropriate in one- or multi-nozzle formed ink jet printheads.
With regard to the channel guidance in single or multi-nozzle inkjet printheads, the known prior art is characterized by two basic solutions.
B. DE-PS 2 132 082, DE-AS 2 302 849, DE-PS 2 543 451, DD-Patentanmeldung WP B 41 J / 274 936 5).In the first solution, there is a continuous, unbranched channel guide from the ink inlet of the ink reservoir via damping region, pressure chamber and outlet channel to the nozzle bore of the ink jet print head (eg DE-PS 2 132 082, DE-AS 2 302 849, DE-PS 2 543 451, US Pat. DD patent application WP B 41 J / 274 936 5).
B. DE-AS 2 161 315, DE-PS 2 164 614, DE-PS 2 536 369, DE-AS 2 543 038, DE-PS 2 624 778).The second solution has a channel guide from the ink feed of the ink reservoir to the nozzle bore of the ink jet print head, and additionally a blind branch leading to the nozzle bore, consisting of pressure chamber and connecting channel (eg DE-AS 2 161 315, DE-PS 2 164 614, DE-PS. PS 2 536 369, DE-AS 2,543,038, DE-PS 2,624,778).
The crucial disadvantage of the first solution is that all foreign components of the writing fluid, such as dirt particles, fancy dye or air bubbles, which can lead to blockages and failure of the printing system, must be transported through the entire pressure branch from the ink inlet of the ink reservoir to the nozzle of the ink jet printhead ,
A disadvantage of the second solution is that in the blind branch without liquid exchange ink dye and air can fail, which can ultimately also lead to a malfunction. Elimination of this disorder is just like the initial filling with writing fluid due to the dummy branch training extremely complicated and expensive.
The aim of the invention is to eliminate the main drawbacks of the known technical solutions and provide an equally simple in its construction as inexpensive inkjet printhead, which allows a long life and reliability in the drop generation and easy venting or initial filling with writing fluid.
Darlegung des Wesens der ErfindungExplanation of the essence of the invention
The invention has for its object to develop a single or multi-nozzle ink jet print head for working in single or multi-color ink jet printing device, which is designed in its channel guide such that the pressure branch is largely flowed through independent of interference with writing fluid. The object is achieved by the features described in the characterizing part of the main claim. Further advantageous and expedient embodiments of the invention will become apparent from the additional points of the invention claim.

The exemplary embodiment of the invention is based on a one-jet or multi-nozzle inkjet printing head of an inkjet printing device operating in single or multi-color printing with demand-oriented drop ejection. The ink jet print head, as shown in Fig. 1 only partially, consists of the writing fluid 2 receiving ink reservoir 1, the ink inlet 3, a capillary influence area 4, provided between the capillary action area 4 and the damping device 6 connecting channel 5, the pressure chamber 7 with the serving for generating short-term pressure pulses energy converter element 8, the outwardly leading nozzle 9 and a pressure branch (which is formed by the parts 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9) parallel connected flow path 10 in the mouth region 11 of the nozzle. 9 ends.
In the generation of short-term pressure pulses on the writing fluid 2 by the energy converter element 8 takes place in a known manner a Flüssigkeitsgikeitsbewegung and as a result an ejection of drops from the nozzle 9. After each drop ejection and subsequent suction phase for promoting writing fluid 2 from the ink reservoir 1, by When the energy conversion element 8 and the liquid meniscus are caused in the nozzle 9, the damper 6 effects the settling liquid column between the ink reservoir 1 and the nozzle 9 in the shortest time via the capillary influence region 4, which is arranged approximately at the level of the minimum ink level in the ink reservoir 1, so that under normal circumstances no interruption of the liquid column can occur n (Fig. 2) whose smaller edge length 4a of each capillary gap cross-sectional area is less than or equal to about half the diameter of the nozzle 9. If this diameter is, for example, 80 μm, then the edge length 4a should not be significantly greater than 40 μm. This ensures that the capillary influence area 4 has the same or greater capillarity than the nozzle 9, so that an unwanted ingress of air into the capillary area 4 in the absence of writing fluid 2 in the ink inlet 3 and electrical excitation of the energy converter element 8 is excluded. Due to the column structure of the capillary influence area 4 with a large, z. B. in the millimeter range column width 4b and only a small length 4c of the capillary influence area 4, for example, 0.5 mm, the inertial forces of the writing fluid 2 can be kept negligibly small in the capillary influence area 4, whereby an impairment of the hydrodynamic properties of the pressure branch (Parts 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9) conditional maximum drop frequency is avoided. Parallel to the pressure branch (parts 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9), according to the invention, a second flow path 10, which starts at the level of the ink inlet 3 and ends in the mouth region 11 of the nozzle 9, is formed (FIG. 1). This has the advantage that dirt particles in the writing fluid 2, fancy dye or air bubbles can be removed by underpressure or overpressure from the ink jet printhead without affecting the pressure branch (parts 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9). Due to the connection of the parallel flow path 10 afu the level of the ink inlet 3 and the hidden arrangement of the influence area 4, thus outside of the continuous flow path (ink reservoir 1 - ink inlet 3 parallel flow path 10, mouth area 11) is largely prevented that dirt particles or Air bubbles on or in the sphere of influence 4 and thus can get into the connecting channel 5. The connecting channel 5, which is designed with the largest possible cross-sectional area to keep the inertia forces small, and the adjoining damping region 6 represent a further protection of the pressure chamber 7 against the ingress of dirt particles and air bubbles. According to the invention, the parallel flow path 10 and Mouth area 11 a capillary rise height, which is greater than or equal to the difference in height between the ink inlet 3 and the nozzle 9 (for example, 25 mm), so that a flooding or maintenance of the flooding of the parallel flow path 10 and the mouth portion 11 is basically guaranteed. To realize the required rise height of the parallel flow path 10, it is expedient to build the flow path 10 from one or more channels with a columnar cross-sectional area and a dimension for the smaller edge length of the cross-sectional area of about 0.4 mm, which corresponds to a rise height of about 25 mm. In order to ensure a greater flow through the parallel flow path 10 or the mouth region 11 relative to the pressure branch (parts 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9) in the generation of an external positive or negative pressure, the flow path 10 with the mouth region 11 has a smaller Flow resistance as the pressure branch (parts 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9). This makes it possible in a simple manner to remove deposits and air from the ink inlet 3 and the parallel flow path 10 and the mouth region 11 with simultaneous flow through the pressure branch (parts 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9).
