The invention finds application in scientific Geraetebau.
Description
The invention relates to optical glasses having refractive indices 1.885 <n e <1.980 and Abbe numbers 21 <v e <25 and having UV transmission values of 0.20 <η (λ = 400 nm, I = 10 mm) <0.55, which are used in optical components.
High-refraction optical glasses with high UV transmission are known on the basis of the glass formation systems TeO 2 with metal metaphosphates or metal halides (DD-WP 158176 and DD-WP 158896). These glasses contain larger amounts of P 2 O 5, which causes evaporation losses with low reproducibility in glass production. In addition, the toxicity of TeO 2 proves to be detrimental.
Glasses of the system Bi 2 O 3 -GeO 2 -BiO x Fy, which likewise have high UV permeability, tend to form streaks during casting due to the volatility of certain components.
Weiterhin wurden auch optische Gläser auf der Basis des Systems PbO-B2O3-GeO2-P2O5 mit Brechzahlen 1,7630 < n„ < 1,8484 und Abbe-Zahlen 27,9 < ve < 34,2 vorgeschlagen. Diese Gläser weisen aber noch nicht die gewünschten hohen BrechzahlenFurthermore, optical glasses were also based on the system PbO-B 2 O 3 -GeO 2 -P 2 O 5 with refractive indices 1.7630 <n "<1.8484 and Abbe numbers 27.9 <v e <34.2 proposed. However, these glasses do not yet have the desired high refractive indices
The aim of the invention is to provide the scientific instrumentation high-refractive optical glasses with high UV transmission, which can be produced technologically favorable.
The object of the invention is to produce high-index homogeneous glasses which have refractive indices of from 1.885 to 1.980 and high UV transmission values by suitable combination of high-index and UV-transmitting glass components.
Die Aufgabe wird erfindungsgemäß dadurch gelöst, daß die Gläser sich aus 43,3-50,0 Mol % PbO 18,0-45,0 Mol % B2O3 5,0-30,0 Mol % GeO2 The object is achieved in that the glasses are from 43.3-50.0 mol% PbO 18.0-45.0 mol% B 2 O 3 5.0-30.0 mol% GeO 2
2,0- 5,0 Mol % P2O5 zusammensetzen.Compound 2.0-5.0 mole% P 2 O 5 .
It has been found that despite the high PbO content which serves to achieve the high refractive index, the defined use of the components B 2 O 34 GeO 2 and P 2 O 5 virtually maintains the high UV permeability of the glasses containing less PbO , Surprisingly, the glasses according to the invention can be homogeneously melted, resulting in significant advantages over the known glasses with refractive indices n e at 1.95.
To vary the properties, small quantities of conventional glass components can be added to the glasses according to the invention.
In the table, the glasses according to the invention are shown in Examples 1 to 5. The comparison of the glasses 1 and 2 with the P 2 O 5 -free glass A demonstrates the effect of the component P 2 O 5 on increasing the UV transmission. The raw material component P 2 O 5 is most suitably used as lead metaphosphate. The glasses are melted in a platinum crucible at 1,250 ° C.
