Description
Majolica enamel frits are preferably used for enamelling of cast iron and also for enamelling steel sheet.
Majolica enamel frits are in the melt with metal compounds colored inorganic transparent glasses, which are applied and burned on objects made of cast iron or steel sheet in the ground state, the direct base for the majolica enamel should be light-colored, as white as possible.
They contain no opacifiers, so that the colored translucent enamel appears bright in sublime spots and dark in depressions and thus comes close to the character of Majolikaglasur, a special ceramic glaze.
Die Emailliertemperaturen liegen im Bereich von 720-8500C.The enameling temperatures are in the range of 720-850 0 C.
Majolica enamels generally have low resistance to the action of acids and alkalis. As the resistance to chemical attack by acids and alkalis increases, the stoving temperature generally increases.
The composition of the majolica enamel frits is generally characterized as containing high levels of alkali and, to some extent, fluorides in combination with barium oxide, partially zinc oxide, calcium oxide and boron trioxide, which are critical for softening, processability and enamel properties. The abundant levels of alumina are used to improve resistance to chemical attack by acids and alkalis, as well as atmospheric influences, but increase the bake temperature, impair color development and gloss.
It is a majolica enamel frit in the color medium brown without the use of fluorine-containing raw materials to develop. It is to be built so that the melted color oxides with respect to the color development and color depth at an enamel temperature in the range of 720-750 0 C on cast iron fully come into effect and thereby have a high-gloss, closed surface.
The basicity of the enamel slip should be such that a uniform slip consistency ensures trouble-free enamel application.
The enamel should adhere to the substrate without cracks and have sufficient resistance to the influence of acids and bases.
The technical problem which is solved by the invention.
Um Majolikaemailfritten zu erhalten, die im Temperaturbereich von 720-7500C glatt ausfließen, verwendet man u.a.To obtain majolica enamel frits that flow smoothly in the temperature range of 720-750 0 C, one uses among others
Fluorverbindungen, z. Fluorine compounds, e.g. B. fluorspar and / or cryolite. The released during melting of the frit mixture fluorine gases are harmful to the environment and must be tied back by costly fluorine absorption. Furthermore, the frits have high levels of sodium, which in the wet grinding process u. a. is released to a considerable extent again from the frit and causes a rock hard settling of the enamel substance in the slip, so that a practice and quality-compliant enamel application and thus a quality-compliant enamel surface without rework is not achieved.
Majolica enameled articles are often prone to the formation of tarnish. This undesirable effect is in many cases remedied by the introduction of alumina, but with higher bake temperatures, in the range of 800-850 ° C.
In the invention underlying composition of Majolika enamel frit, einbrrennen in the temperature range of 700-750 0 C, the total alkali content was first increased, the content of sodium oxide was reduced so that the alkalinity of the finished ground Enamel slip, represented by the pH measurement, a to allow easy processing. The main alkali part was covered by potassium oxide and introduced to support the fluxing effect of lithium oxide. This experimentally determined flux combination allows in conjunction with the other fluxes barium and boron oxide, as well as the dye iron oxide in certain proportions, the baking of the enamel application in the temperature range of 700-750 0 C. To improve the resistance of the enamel against η ene and alkalis were optimized Including amounts of titanium dioxide and zirconia in the offset, wherein the titanium dioxide also supports the fluxing effect and the above-mentioned lithium oxide in turn promotes the chemical resistance. The majority of all active compounds is silica, which as a refractory, among other things, greatly affects both the softening performance and the resistance to aqueous media attack.
The realization of the invention initially takes place at the frit producer. The majolica enamel frit produced according to the invention can be used in the email-processing industry in the production of cast-iron space heaters, fittings, kitchen and sanitary articles, eg. B. baths, as well as in the manufacture of articles made of sheet steel, such. As oven and stove parts, architectural panels, exterior enamels for household appliances u.a. be used.
Die erfindungsgemäße Majolikaemailfritte bewegt sich hinsichtlich ihrer Oxidzusammensetzung innerhalb folgender Grenzen (Angaben in Gew.-%):The majolica enamel frit according to the invention moves within the following limits with regard to its oxide composition (in% by weight):
The majolica enamel frit prepared on the basis of said oxide composition was wet-milled as enamel slurry onto cast-iron plates and baked at temperatures ranging from 700-750 ° C.
The enamel schicker prepared from this frit shows a pH in the range of 8.0-9.0 and thus allows easy processing, as in this area settling of the slip was observed not or at most only to a small extent.
The determination of the acid resistance was carried out according to the TGL 7797, Bl. 3. The removal was enameled Probeblechen with majolica enamel medium brown 30-35mg / dm second
The determination of alkali resistance was carried out according to. the TGL 14955 and brought in medium brown 80-90 mg / dm 2 enamel removal.
