Abstract

The invented swimming pool comprises a bottom (11) side walls (12) a front end (1), a rear end (10) and a device for generating a swimming counter current in the swimming pool. The swimming counter current generating device comprises an inlet hole (6) a pump (7), a transfer channel (8) and outlet nozzles (4). In the swimming pool (1) front end there are performed below level two main outlet holes (2) arranged symmetrically about axis of a swimming path (3) and in the area beyond the swimming pool (1) front end there are located the outlet nozzles (4) having their orifice in the main outlet holes (2).

BACKGROUND OF THE INVENTION The present invention relates to a device for creating conditions for continuous swimming in a water stream in a pool.

BACKGROUND ^P for swimming pools in relatively small equipment is used to produce a stream of water directed against swimmers. An apparatus according to patent WO 96/06999 is known which is built into the wall of a pool. The apparatus draws water from the pool through an opening in the form of a circular annulus and propels it back through an opening in the center of the annulus. The apparatus of DE 197 36 079 operates similarly, wherein the suction opening is located separately from the discharge nozzle, or according to GB 2 296 861 with two suction openings.

The disadvantage of guided systems is that the effluent flow is too local, acting primarily on the swimmer's head and shoulders and pushing the swimmer aside. Moreover, the flow is strongly turbulent at the swimmer's head.

Furthermore, the arrangement according to WO 95/23902 with a circular channel is known, but which concerns larger swimming pools. Finally, a solution according to patent no. 280214 of the Czech Republic is known, in which the orifice is situated on the opposite side of the pool than the suction port is located and the water is transferred through a gap in the double bottom. However, the patented placement of the orifice in a rounded face is dangerous because it promotes the creation of a horizontal vortex in which a swimmer could drown.

SUMMARY OF THE INVENTION

The above drawbacks are overcome by a swimming pool with a countercurrent device according to the invention. Its essence is that the water is supplied by a system of nozzles surrounding the fairway of the swimmer.

The primary stream of water flowing from the nozzle into the pool environment gradually transmits its energy and momentum to the surrounding water, gradually fading. It causes a secondary flow of the surrounding water formed by the expanding area filling the swimming lane.

The swimmer is carried away by a stream that acts along his entire body and the level is relatively calm at the swimmer's head. The surrounding water is sucked into the swimming lane defined by the nozzles from the pool area. In the arrangement according to the invention, there are no dangerous horizontal cylindrical vortices in the pool area in which the swimmer could drown. If the swimmer relinquishes his effort, a stream of water will carry him to the walls of the pool.

The streams flowing from the nozzles are directed parallel to the centerline of the fairway or may be inclined to the centerline of the fairway to improve the effect.

Axial pumps located on the opposite side of the pool are preferably used to induce flow, where a suitably covered suction port is also located. The pipe from the pump running below the bottom of the pool or along its wall to the nozzle assembly may advantageously serve as a diffuser, converting a portion of the specific energy supplied by the pump from kinetic energy to pressure energy. This makes it possible to shift the pump operating point to higher flow rates.

The outlet port of the pump 7 is connected to two widening transfer channels 8 built into the pool wall. At the end of the pool, each of the two channels continues through two arcuate elbows 9 forming the orifices of the outlet nozzles 4.
