The applicant for this registration is a company that develops activities in a very specialized area of the market, as it is a leading company in the segment of roof tents.

In this area, he has developed solutions that provide increasingly pleasant and innovative experiences to the user (typically all-terrain vehicle drivers and camping and tenting enthusiasts).

After all, the shape of these tents (in the closed state for storage on the roof of the car and transportation) is an important factor - it must take into account the requirements of aerodynamics - facilitating their use, the attention of the manufacturer, in this case the applicant, is focused.

The originator has thus developed an innovative process for opening and closing roof tents: simpler, much easier and more practical, which also provides aesthetic benefits.

The type of tents that the technical solution refers to is a very specific subject, where both the overall shape (to avoid increased friction) and the specific design (they are mounted on the car and complement its lines) are essential aspects that must be taken into account. In addition, there is a need for the device to be practical: to be easy to assemble, use and dismantle, and to be able to be stored quickly.

This is how the need arose: to increase comfort and make it easier to open and close these roof tents.

The technical solution actually proposes two halves of the profile along the entire length of the edges of each half of the roof tent, instead of a normal zipper closure (zip type) or as a substitute for flaps, clamps, springs or combined solutions. The profile settings have been designed so that they snap together and close the tent with just pressure. To open - by disconnecting and releasing the profiles - just press the inconspicuous button inside, which pushes on both profiles.

Current state of the art

In the current state of technology for opening and closing roof tents, traditional solutions in the form of buckles, three-pronged clips, etc. are used.

Zip fasteners would be a viable solution, but they are not very suitable for such rigid and relatively heavy and bulky structures as roof tents.

Since it is an object of already quite large dimensions, and in addition the roof tent is mounted and fixed - on the top of the vehicle, usually off-road vehicles, it reaches a considerable height. Access by means of steps is therefore required to open the tent - and to assemble, dismantle and close it. This process can be lengthy and inconvenient.

The technical solution represents a proposal for a simpler, easier, more convenient and more effective procedure for assembling and disassembling roof tents.

The essence of the technical solution

It is a new roof tent closing system 1 that allows simpler and easier opening and closing. The roof box is equipped in both halves - front and rear - along the entire length of the edge and around the entire perimeter with two profiles: front profile 2 and rear profile 3. Front profile 2 is equipped

Figure 3 represents a cross-section of a closed roof tent where the rear profile 3 equipped with an oblique sheath 3-a protruding inwards, fitted into the fastening cut-out 2-a of the front profile 2, and a button 4 are evident.

An example of the implementation of a technical solution

Description of the best way to implement a technical solution.

The technical solution basically consists of:

- In the location of the profiles on the peripheral edges of both halves of the roof tent (Fig. 1 and Fig. 3);

- In the presence of a protruding sheath on the edge of one of the profiles and a cut-out on the edge of the other profile;

- In the existence of a button (the best way to do it is to place two units on the front side and near the edges;

- In the option to simply press a button, which immediately releases both halves of the roof tent by releasing the rear profile from the corresponding front profile.

The best way to implement the technical solution is to place the profiles on the inside of the roof tent, which will allow the construction to be fixed on one of the two sides (specifically with hinges) and thus allow opening only on the profile side. As an alternative, it is possible to place profiles along the entire perimeter of the roof tent, whereby one half can be completely separated from the other by simply pressing the buttons located around the perimeter.

A front profile 2 is mounted on the edge of the home half of the roof tent I. This profile is equipped with a fastening cut-out 2-a. which will allow the two profiles to fit into each other.

The de facto rear profile 3 - mounted on the edge of the lower half of the roof tent 1 - has an inclined sheath 3-a which projects towards the inside of the tent.

The shape and orientation of this angled scabbard 3-a allows it to fit into the mounting cutout 2-a on the front profile under light pressure.

After closing the roof tent 1, as shown in Fig. 1, the two halves remain hermetically connected. To open the tent, just press the button 4, which moves the inclined sheath 3-a and thus releases it from the fastening cut-out 2-a.

The best way to implement a technical solution - which, however, is not the only way to comply with the technical specifications - are profiles made of polymer material, which allows for a certain flexibility.

The inclined sheath 3-a can have different settings, if it allows to engage, tension and fix in the fastening cut-out 2-a of the opposite profile.

It is closed by simple pressure on both halves of the roof tent using the supporting profile; a light press of button 4 will open the tent and speed up the assembly process.

In this way, a practical, convenient and simple solution is obtained, which represents a clear advantage for the user of the roof tent.
