Abstract

The invention is an insert for the centre console of a car including a central part (1). The central part (1) includes in its upper part an opening (2) of the central part (1), which is adapted to receive a container. The centre console insert further comprises a first rotating arm (3) attached to one side of the central part (1) and also a second rotating arm (4) attached to the central part (1) on the side opposite to the rotatable attachment of the first arm (3). The first arm (3) comprises at least the first wall (5) of the first arm (3) and the second wall (6) of the first arm (3). The first wall (5) of the first arm (3) and the second wall (6) of the first arm (3) are connected and form an angle of 90°. The second arm (4) comprises at least the first wall (7) of the second arm (4) and the second wall (8) of the second arm (4). The first wall (7) of the second arm (4) and the second wall (8) of the second arm (4) are connected and form an angle of 90°.

Car center console insert

Field of technology

The invention relates to the field of drink holders in a vehicle, in particular drink holders in the center console.

Current state of the art

In the current state of the art, cup holders placed in a vehicle are known, such as the collapsible cup holder disclosed in document US 20080128440 AI, which discloses a holder comprising five side-connected holders that can be folded over each other via the connecting sides, and therefore the holder can be used as a carrier for one to five cups at a time. The disadvantage of this solution is that it is not possible to store this carrier stably in the vehicle, it can only be used as a carrier. Furthermore, food carriers and drink cups are disclosed, such as in document EP 1123870 A, which discloses a food carrier with fold-out holders on the sides for storing drink cups. The disadvantage of this solution is that it is not adapted to be stored in the vehicle, only for carrying directly, while it can only be placed loosely in the vehicle, and therefore the risk of spilling the contents of the inserted cups increases.

Furthermore, from document US 2005035618 AI, a center console solution including storage spaces, including cup holders, is known. The cup holders are removably attached to the center console, but they are not adapted for carrying cups outside the vehicle. The exact number of cup holders is also determined in this way and cannot simply be expanded or reduced during use according to the user's needs. Cup holders also require a precise center console design and the center console requires enough space between the front seats of the vehicle, so the console can only be installed in some vehicles.

US 2008315606 AI also discloses a center console solution with cup holders. This solution discloses a collapsible central console, which can also be used as a table with holes for receiving a container after unfolding. Structurally, however, the console is complicated with a number of moving parts, and the openings for receiving the container, which become accessible after the container is unfolded, require the table to be unfolded, thus limiting the user's surrounding space, and especially for the driver, this could lead to a reduction in the ability to drive the vehicle. Another disadvantage of this solution lies in the construction, which does not allow the use of cup holders and openings for receiving a container to carry cups or containers outside the vehicle.

Another center console solution with cup holders is disclosed in US 2007296234 AI. The cup holder in this solution appears as one of the inserts. However, this insert is not suitable for use outside the car. The center console itself is adjustable, but a number of different parts are used for this purpose, which leads to an increase in production costs and an increase in the storage space requirement of the car user.

A center console cup holder insert is also disclosed in document US 10427613 B2, wherein this cup holder comprises two parts, namely a fixed part stored in the center console and an expanding part which can be stored when not in use by being stored in the fixed part. The disadvantage of this solution is the limitation of space for the passenger in the configuration of the cup holder with the extended part folded out, where there is also a risk of spilling the contents of the cup in the event of an unwanted kick into the cup holder freely protruding from the center console. Furthermore, this insert is not removable.

The solution for cup holders to be inserted into the center console from the document US 2018257535 AI allows the number of openings to receive the container to be increased by two by opening the top part and hooking it over the edge of the center console. The problem with this solution is that the cup holder is a fixed part of the center console, its part with two holes can only be removed once and used to carry cups outside the center console. Another disadvantage is that in order to increase the number of holes for receiving the container, it is necessary to hook the cup holder from the outer part of the center console, so in this configuration the cup holder limits the space of the passenger and there is a risk of accidentally kicking the holder and spilling the cup with a drink in the car.

In another embodiment published in US 2018257535 AI, it is possible to expand the number of openings by flipping over the edge of the center console with hinges, which makes it difficult to remove this part of the cup holder and use it for carrying cups with drinks outside the center console.

The essence of the invention

The above deficiencies are to some extent eliminated by a center console insert including a center piece, wherein the center piece includes in its upper part a center piece opening adapted to receive a container, wherein the center console insert further includes a first arm rotatably attached to one side of the center piece and further includes a second arm pivotally attached to the center member on a side opposite to the pivotal attachment of the first arm, wherein the first wall of the first arm and the second wall of the first arm are connected and form a 90° angle to each other, and the first wall of the second arm and the second wall of the second arm are connected to each other 90° angle. The inclusion of a first arm pivotally attached to the center piece with the first and second walls and the inclusion of a second arm pivotally attached to the center piece allows the center console insert to be unfolded and folded to allow it to be more easily carried away from the center consoles.

In an advantageous embodiment of the center console insert, the first arm includes an opening of the first arm that is adapted to receive a container and the second arm includes an opening of the second arm that is adapted to receive a container. By including the opening of the first arm and the opening of the second arm, it is possible for the user of the center console insert to use additional openings that are adapted to receive a container in the event that the number of openings in the center part is insufficient. It is also possible to change the number of holes for containers that are available.

The center console insert preferably includes a first wall of the first arm that includes a circular segment of the first arm directed toward the center portion and a first wall of the second arm that includes a circular segment of the second arm directed toward the central portion. The inclusion of a circular segment of the first arm and a circular segment of the second arm allows the user to add additional container space in case the opening of the center part is insufficient. The use of a circular segment instead of holes enables space to be saved on the first surface of the first arm and the first surface of the second arm.

The car center console insert preferably has two operating positions, wherein in the first folded position the plane of the first wall of the first arm is at right angles to the plane of the surface of the central part with the opening of the central part, and the plane of the first wall of the second arm is at right angles to the plane of the surface of the central part with the opening of the central part, while in the second, unfolded position, the plane of the first wall of the first arm is parallel to the plane of the first wall of the second arm and the plane of the surface of the central part with the opening of the central part. The two operating positions of the center console insert allow the console to be folded by turning the arms into a folded position to save space, or if it is necessary to use the openings or circular sections of the first arm and the second arm by rotating the first arm and the second arm into the unfolded position.

An automobile center console insert in a preferred embodiment includes a center section that includes a first circular section of the center section, wherein the first circular section of the center section abuts the circular section of the first arm in the deployed position, and the center section further includes a second circular section of the center section, wherein the second circular section of the center section of the part is adjacent to the circular section of the second arm in the unfolded position. The inclusion of the first circular section of the central part adjacent to the circular section of the first arm and the second circular section of the central part adjacent to the circular section of the second arm enables a more stable storage of the container in the circular section of the first arm and in the circular section of the second arm in the unfolded position.

The inclusion of the first arm lowered bottom and the second arm lowered bottom allows one of the walls of the first arm lowered bottom and the second arm lowered bottom to be used in the deployed position to grip the center console insert in the deployed position for carrying. While in the folded position, the lowered bottom can be used for storing objects in a situation where the insert is turned with the lowered bottom up.

Preferably, in the folded position of the center console insert of the car, the second wall of the first arm adjoins the second wall of the second arm, the plane of the second wall of the first arm and the plane of the second wall of the second arm being parallel. The abutment of the second wall of the first arm and the second wall of the second arm in the folded position allows the center console insert to be used as a storage space with a flat bottom in the case of turning the center console insert in the folded position with the lowered bottom up.

It is advantageously used that the center console of the car includes the side walls of the console and the bottom of the console, while the inner circumference of the center console is larger than the outer circumference of the center console insert, preferably in the unfolded position overlapping most of the bottom surface of the center console and while in the folded position the center console insert of the car covers a smaller part of the bottom of the center console than the part of the bottom covered from above by the insert of the center console in the unfolded position. Covering most of the bottom area of the center console with the center console insert in the unfolded position allows the center console insert to remain in the center console. This also allows for center console variability, where the center console insert can be stored so that it overlaps most of the center console bottom area, so the center console insert is unfolded to provide all the openings that are adapted to receive containers, or the center console insert can be stored so , that it covers a smaller part of the bottom, i.e. it is, for example, in a folded position and allows the use of only the openings of the central part, which are adapted to receive a container, leaving the rest of the central console free for storing other objects, or in the folded position it is stored with the lowered bottom upwards and allows store items both on the lowered floor and in the remaining space of the center console. The design of the center console and the center console insert also allows for all storage options, the center console insert is inside the center console, so the center console insert is protected from unwanted movement of the user's feet.

The center console of the car preferably includes one side wall of the center console including a projection of the center console passing through at least part of the height of the center console, wherein the central part includes a side groove at least partially copying the projection of the center console. The inclusion of the center console sidewall projection and the sidewall grooves allow the center console insert to slide over the center console wall projection. By sliding the center console insert over the center console tab, the center console component is locked in place, preventing the center console insert from moving in the center console while driving.

Examples of implementation of the invention

The mentioned implementations show exemplary variants of the invention, which, however, have no limiting effect in terms of the scope of protection.

The cup holder insert is adapted to be inserted into the center console, wherein the center console 13 includes a rectangular opening with rounded corners and a space of the center console 13, which is bounded by the side walls of the center console 13 and the bottom of the center console 13. The two opposite walls of the center console 13 further include elongated projections of the center console 13, which pass through at least part of the height of the center console 13 for convenient insertion and sufficient fixation of the center console insert in the center console 13. In an alternative embodiment, the center console includes only one side wall with a projection. The insert with the cup holder for insertion into the central console 13 includes a central part 1, realized as a flat plate and, when viewed from above, has the shape of a rectangular quadrangle, which includes in its upper part two openings 2 of the central part, which are adapted to receive a container. Alternatively, the number of holes 2 of the central part 1, which are adapted to receive a container, can be one, three or more according to the available area of the central part L. The holes 2 of the central part 1 are realized as circular cutouts in the central part 1. In an alternative embodiment, each of the holes 2 of the central part part 1, which is adapted to receive the container, includes the peripheral wall of the opening and the bottom of the opening, while in the current exemplary embodiment, the peripheral walls at the closest mutual distance of the openings are interrupted by a gap, and the peripheral wall of the first opening 2 of the central part 1 is connected to the peripheral wall of the second opening 2 of the central part 1, as illustrated in Fig. 1. In an alternative embodiment of the bottom of the holes, the holes 2 of the central part 1 are fully separated and the peripheral walls in cross-section describe a circle and each of the holes 2 of the central part 1 describes the shape of an inverted truncated pyramid. In another alternative embodiment of the central part 1, the central part 1 can include additional openings with storage spaces for accessories such as pencils, keys or cards on its upper side. The central part 1 includes two triangular side walls in the shape of an isosceles triangle oriented in the direction from the surface of the central part 1 with openings 2 of the central part, with a base attached to the part of the central part 1 with openings 2 of the central part 1. The triangular walls include transversely in the direction of the base to the top of the wall of the groove, copying the protrusions of the center console 13 in shape. In an alternative embodiment of the center console 13 with one protrusion, the center console insert includes on only one side wall grooves copying the protrusion of the center console 13. These grooves can be slid onto the protrusions of the center console 13, thereby fixing center console insert in the center console 13, as illustrated in Fig. 5. In an alternative embodiment of the center part 1, the center part 1 does not include the side triangular walls, as illustrated in Fig. 4. Furthermore, the center part 1 includes on the edge sides for receiving the container rotatably attached first arm 3. The rotatable attachment is realized by rotatable hinges attached to the edge with of the third part 1 on one side and on the other side to the edge of the first arm 3. The first arm 3 includes the first wall 5 of the first arm 3 formed by a sheet of material, while across the first wall 5 of the first arm 3 there is a circular opening of the first arm 3, which is adapted for container reception. The second wall 6 of the first arm 3 is attached to the edge of the first wall 5 of the first arm 3 opposite to the edge with the rotatable attachment. The first wall 5 of the first arm 3 and the second wall 6 of the first arm 3 form an angle of 90°. The second wall 6 of the first arm 3 further includes a lowered bottom with rounded edges, as illustrated in Figs. 1 and 3. The lowered bottom includes three bottom walls of the first arm 3 projecting away from the second surface 6 of the first arm 3 and a lowered area of the lowered bottom of the second wall 6 of the first arm 3. The first wall 5 of the first arm 3 and the second wall 6 of the first arm 3 are connected at their vertices on the sides of the first arm 3 by triangular walls, while the base of the triangular wall is formed by a diagonal leading from the vertices of the more distant edges of the first wall 5 of the first arm 3 and the second wall 6 of the first arm 3. The central part 1 further includes, on the edge of the side with the opening 2 of the central part 1, opposite to the rotating attachment of the first arm 3, a rotatably attached second arm 4. The rotating attachment is realized by rotating hinges attached to the edge of the central part 1 on one side and to the edge on the other side of the second arm 4. The second arm 4 includes the first wall 7 of the second arm 4 formed by a sheet of material analogous to the first wall 5 of the first arm 3, while in the first wall 7 of the second arm 4 there is a circular opening of the second arm 4, which is adapted to receive the container. Attached to the edge of the first wall 7 of the second arm 4 is the second wall 8 of the second arm 4, the second wall 8 of the second arm 4 further comprising a lowered bottom with rounded edges as illustrated in Figs. 1 and 3. The lowered bottom comprises three bottom walls of the second arm 4 protruding from the second surface 8 of the second arm 4 and the lowered surface of the lowered bottom of the second wall 8 of the second arm 4. The walls of the bottom of the second arm 4 pass into the lowered surface of the second wall 8 of the second arm 4 with concavely curved sides. The first wall 7 of the second arm 4 further includes grooves on the sides that copy the protrusions of the center console 13. whereby the insert can be inserted into the center console and the protrusions hold the insert fixed in the center console 13, as illustrated in Fig. 6 and 7. The first wall 7 of the second arms 4 and the second wall 8 of the second arm 4 are connected by triangular walls at their peaks on the sides of the second arm 4, while the base of the triangular wall is formed by a diagonal leading from the peaks of the far edges of the first wall 7 of the second arm 4 and the second wall 8 of the second arm 4. Rotation of the first arm 3 and the second arm 4 they define in one direction the edges of the central part 1, which form an obstacle to the further displacement of the first arm 3 and the second arm 4 further than to the second position. In the second direction, the movement is limited by the side wall of the central part 1, while the side walls of the first arm 3 and the side walls of the second arm 4 rest on the side wall of the central part 1 in the folded position, further in the second direction the movement is limited by the stop, the edges of the second wall 6 of the first arm 3 and the edge of the second wall 8 of the second arm 4. In an alternative embodiment, the first wall 5 of the first arm 3 instead of a circular opening, which is adapted to receive a container, only has a circular segment 11 of the first arm 3, while the circular segment 11 of the first arm 3 points in the unfolded position to to the central part 1. Furthermore, the central part 1 in this alternative embodiment includes the first circular segment 9 of the central part 1 on the side with the openings 2 of the central part 1, which are adapted to receive a container, while the first circular segment 9 of the central part 1 points in the unfolded position to the first arm 3. The first circular segment 9 of the central part 1 is located near the circular segment 11 of the first arm 3, therefore in the unfolded position the circular segment 11 of the first arm 3 and the first circular segment 9 of the central part 1 form a circular opening adapted to receive the container. In another alternative embodiment, in the first wall 7 of the second arm 4, instead of a circular opening, which is adapted to receive the container, the circular section 12 of the second arm 4, while the circular section 12 of the second arm 4 points towards the central part 1 in the unfolded position. this alternative embodiment includes a second circular segment 10 on the side with holes 2 of the central part 1, whereby the second circular segment 10 of the central part 1 directs in the unfolded position to the second arm 3. The second circular segment 10 of the central part 1 is located in the central part 1 near the circular segment 12 of the second arm 4, therefore in the unfolded position the circular segment 12 of the second arm 4 and the second circular segment 10 of the central part 1 form a circular opening adapted to receive the container.

Claims (9)

PATENT CLAIMS 1. An automobile center console insert comprising a center part (1), wherein the center part (1) includes in its upper part an opening (2) of the center part (1) which is adapted to receive a container, characterized in that the center console insert further comprises a first arm (3) rotatably attached to one side of the central part (1) and further comprises a second arm (4) rotatably attached to the central part (1) on the side opposite to the rotatable attachment of the first arm (3), wherein the first arm (3) comprises at least the first wall (5) of the first arm (3) and the second wall (6) of the first arm (3), wherein the first wall (5) of the first arm (3) and the second wall (6) of the first arm (3) are connected and mutually form an angle of 90° and wherein the second arm (4) comprises at least the first wall (7) of the second arm (4) and the second wall (8) of the second arm (4), wherein the first wall (7) of the second arm (4) and the second wall ( 8) the second arms (4) are connected and form an angle of 90°. 2. Car center console insert according to claim 1, characterized in that the first arm (3) includes an opening of the first arm (3) which is adapted to receive a container and the second arm (4) includes an opening of the second arm (4) which is adapted to receive the container. 3. Car center console insert according to claim 1, characterized in that the first wall (5) of the first arm (3) includes a circular section (11) of the first arm (3) facing the central part (1) and the first wall (7) of the second the arms (4) includes the circular section (12) of the second arm (4) directed towards the central part (1). 4. An automobile center console insert according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that the automobile center console insert has two operating positions, wherein in the first folded position the first wall (5) of the first arm (3) is at right angles to the plane in which the surface of the central part (1) with the hole (2) of the central part (1) lies, and the first wall (7) of the second arm (4) is at right angles to the plane in which the surface of the central part (1) with the hole (2) lies of the central part (1), while in the second, unfolded position, the first wall (5) of the first arm (3) is parallel to the first wall (7) of the second arm (4) and the plane in which the surface of the central part (1) lies with through the hole (2) of the central part (1). 5. Car center console insert according to any one of claims 1, 3, 4 or 5, characterized in that the central part (1) comprises a first circular segment (9) of the central part (1), wherein the first circular segment (9) of the central part (1) adjoins the circular segment (11) of the first arm (3) in the unfolded position and the central part (1) further includes the second circular segment (10) of the central part (1), wherein the second circular segment (10) of the central part (1) it adjoins the circular segment (12) of the second arm (4) in the unfolded position. 6. The center console insert of a car according to any one of the preceding claims, characterized in that three bottom walls protrude from the second wall (6) of the first arm (3) from the surface of the second wall in the direction from the second wall (6) of the first arm (3), while these three walls of the bottom together with the surface of the second wall (6) of the first arm (3) form a lowered bottom, while from the second wall (8) of the second arm (4) three walls of the bottom protrude from the surface of the second wall (8) of the second arm (4) towards from the second wall (8) of the second arm (4), whereby these three bottom walls together with the surface of the second wall (8) of the second arm (4) form a lowered bottom. 7. Car center console insert according to any one of claims 4 to 6, characterized in that in the folded position the second wall (6) of the first arm (3) abuts the second wall (8) of the second arm (4), while the plane of the second wall ( 6) of the first arm (3) and the plane of the second wall (8) of the second arm (4) are parallel. 8. An automobile center console comprising the side walls of the center console (13) and the bottom of the center console (13), wherein the inner circumference of the center console (13) is greater than the outer circumference of the center console insert (13) according to any one of claims 4 to 7, characterized in that in the unfolded position the insert of the center console (13) of the car overlaps from above most of the area of the bottom of the center console (13) and while in the folded position the insert of the center console (13) of the car overlaps a smaller part of the bottom -7 CZ 309379 B6 of the center console (13), while the part of the bottom is covered from above by the insert of the center console (13) in the unfolded position. 9.
