Abstract

The invention relates to a cooling box in the luggage compartment of an automobile in a location under the floor, which normally serves to accommodate a spare wheel.

State of the art

In the current state of the art, known cooling boxes are suitable for transport in a car. Such boxes tend to be located in the crew compartment or luggage compartment, where they may obstruct passengers and / or occupy part of the luggage compartment capacity. In addition, conventional cooling boxes are usually placed freely in the car, which is neither practical nor safe, or they require suitable securing elements, eg to attach the box to a seat or floor. In addition, for some cooling boxes, a structural modification, such as the trunk floor, is required to secure the box against movement.

Patent document KR 100397932 A describes the placement of a cooling box in the luggage compartment, this box being attached to the luggage compartment cover plate. The box is thus secured against unintentional movement while driving, but it occupies part of the luggage compartment.

CN 204642696 A describes a cooling box for a car, eg for placement in a trunk. To secure the box against moving, it can be screwed to the floor of the car. This box therefore also takes up space in the luggage compartment. In addition, securing it and possibly taking it out is quite complicated.

There is also a large number of cooling boxes available on the market for use in the car. However, it is usually provided that such cooling boxes be placed freely in the luggage compartment or between the front and rear seats.

It would therefore be appropriate to come up with a solution that would allow a cooling box to be placed in the car so that it does not interfere with the car and so that significant structural modifications are not necessary for its placement and securing.

The essence of the invention

The above-mentioned drawbacks are to some extent eliminated by a cooling box made of thermal insulation material comprising a storage part and a lid, which can be placed in the trunk of a car comprising storage space, floor and cargo edge, the storage space comprising a bottom and at least one wall under the floor next to the cargo edge. The shape of the cooling box is adapted to be placed in the storage space, the storage part of the cooling box being adapted to cover the bottom and the given at least one wall of the storage space and to rest on them.

The storage space can be located in close proximity to the cargo edge or can be offset from it in the direction of the front of the car, for example up to several tens of centimeters. Preferably, however, the rear wall of the storage space is not more than 30 cm, more preferably less than 20 cm, most preferably not more than 10 cm from the cargo edge (i.e. the front end of the cargo edge which is closer to the front end of the car), so that the storage space is easily accessible from outside the car through the luggage compartment entrance. Such a storage location ensures that even smaller people can reach the bottom of the storage space without having to lean on the rear end of the cargo edge, which is often dirty.

The thermal insulation material preferably has a thermal conductivity of less than 0.2 W / (mK), more preferably less than 0.1 W / (mK), most preferably less than 0.06 W / (mK). Materials with a thermal conductivity value close to 0.2 W / (mK) are sufficient if the thermally insulated storage space is to be used mainly for short-term storage, eg for a journey between a store and a home. Materials with a thermal conductivity value of less than 0.06 W / (mK) are more suitable for longer storage. Preferably, the thermal insulation material used also has good sound insulation properties. The thermal insulation material may be a homogeneous material and / or a material containing bubbles or gaps, eg filled with air, and / or a combination of several materials. Depending on the thickness of the thermal insulation material used, the size of the storage space and the number of stored refrigerated objects, the storage space including thermal insulation material with a thermal conductivity coefficient falling within the above limits will keep the refrigerated objects at a suitable temperature (ie for frozen objects, keep them at a temperature below freezing) for a few hours to several tens of hours.

Said storage space under the car floor (often the floor in place includes, e.g. a floor carpet or other suitable insert) primarily serves to store a spare wheel and sometimes, alternatively or in addition, to store some elements of the car equipment, e.g. fire extinguisher, first aid kit or tool. This storage space is usually created in cars without a spare wheel, for example so that no other bodywork has to be produced for such cars or so that the spare wheel can be placed where, and then the storage space is often unused or just placed in it, e.g. adhesive set for bicycle. Thanks to the provision of a storage space with thermal insulation material and a lid made of thermal insulation material, it is possible to use this storage space as a cooling box (eg for food or medicine) or, conversely, a box that keeps heated food warm longer. At the same time, the thermal insulation material dampens the noise and / or vibrations that occur when driving and protects the body in the given place from shocks or scratches from objects placed in the storage area. The noise that can be generated by objects hitting the storage space against each other, by the thermal insulation material or by the walls of the storage space is also attenuated. In addition, the thermal insulation material acts as a support in a given place, eg for the floor when it is loaded in a place above the storage space, which is advantageous especially in cases where the floor is made of a less strong material.

Preferably, the thermal insulation material covering the bottom and the at least one storage wall is formed in one piece, wherein the lid and the thermal insulation material covering the bottom and the at least one storage wall together form a closable container. If the thermal insulation material is a single piece, it is facilitated to place it in the storage space and, if necessary, to remove it. In addition, such a closable container better insulates and withstands higher loads.

The lid can be hinged to the thermal insulation material covering the bottom and the wall of the storage space, or it can be fully removable.

In a preferred embodiment, the closable container is removable from the storage compartment. It is thus possible to take it out, eg due to its washing, or it is possible to take the purchased refrigerated goods home in it.

The lid can be connected to the floor with its upper side. When the floor is exposed, the insulating lockable container is opened directly. For example, when saving a purchase, it is not necessary to tilt the floor separately and open the closable container.

Preferably, the thermal insulation material is a foam material. The foam material combines good insulating and damping properties with low weight, for example foam plastics have a thermal conductivity coefficient of usually less than 0.06 W / (mK) and effectively absorb and dampen sound and vibration. A durable foam material is suitable which is not damaged during prolonged use and wiping and which does not absorb moisture, so that it is easy to wash and does not soak up, eg water condensed on its surface. To ensure stable floor support, it is advisable that the material used is

Polyethylene, for example, is suitable. A harder plastic shell having an insulating air gap and / or foam material and / or other thermal insulation material may also be used, or the foam material may be provided with a suitable reinforcement.

Advantageously, the storage space contains cooling elements. For example, these may be conventional cooling elements that are cooled in a freezer before being used in a car. Thanks to the cooling elements, it is easier to keep the space covered by the insulating material at a lower temperature, thus keeping the food frozen or chilled for longer. Stored chilled food or a suitable ice bucket can also serve as cooling elements.

Examples of embodiments of the invention

These embodiments illustrate exemplary embodiments of the invention, which, however, have no limiting effect on the scope of protection.

Fig. 1 shows a luggage compartment 1 of a car with a storage space formed under the floor 3 by shaping the body in the rear part of the luggage compartment 1 at the loading edge. The luggage compartment floor 3 comprises a front part and a rear part, the storage space being below the rear part and the rear part being rotatably connected to the front part. The rear part of the floor 3 of the luggage compartment thus closes the entrance to the storage space. Alternatively, the rear part may be connected to the front part in another way, e.g. slidably, or it may not be connected to it at all. Alternatively, the floor 3 can be made in one piece and the floor 3 is folded or partially rolled up to expose the storage space.

The storage space includes a bottom and four walls, formed by a body plate, and is cuboid-shaped. A closable container made of heat-insulating and sound-insulating material is inserted inside the storage space, which serves as a cooling box 2. The cooling box 2 comprises a storage part 4 and a lid 5. The storage part 4 has the shape of a block open from above and to be easily placed in and removable from the storage space and at the same time cover and rest on all walls and the bottom. In the embodiment shown, the rear wall of the cooling box 2 is slightly convex to copy the convex wall of the storage space. Due to this abutment of the storage part 4 in the storage space with minimal clearance, the cooling box 2 is reliably secured inside its storage space so that it cannot move during driving and does not need to be additionally attached with any securing elements and at the same time effectively dampens noise and vibration. At the upper (open) end, all four walls of the cooling box 2 around the entire perimeter of the cooling box 2 are provided with recesses from the inside (see Fig. 1), which serve as a bearing surface for the lid 5. The thermal insulation material used in this embodiment is extruded polypropylene, which is a thermal and sound insulator. The cooling box 2 thus not only enables thermal insulation (e.g. cooling food or, conversely, preventing hot food from cooling down), but also prevents the transmission of unwanted noise and vibrations from outside the car through the storage space under the luggage compartment floor 3. In addition, any impacts coming from inside the cooling box 2 from objects located inside are dampened. Alternatively, any other thermal insulation material or combination of materials may be used, preferably foam materials are used, e.g. foamed or extruded polystyrene or polyurethane, which combine good insulating properties (both thermal and sound insulating) with low weight. Thanks to the material used, the cooling box 2 is robust enough to support the floor, even if the floor is, for example, only carpet. There is no risk of falling through the floor if a heavier object is placed in the rear of the luggage compartment.

In an alternative embodiment, the lid 5 is releasably connected to the floor 3 by its upper side, e.g. by means of velcro or magnets. As a result, by opening the floor 3 to expose the storage space with the cooling box 2, the lid 5 is also opened, so that the cooling box 2 is opened in one movement.

Cooling elements, such as gel cooling pads, liquid-filled cooling pads, or can be used, such as a PET ice bottle, are used to cool the cooling box 2. Alternatively, the cooling box 2 can only be cooled by the placed chilled food. The storage part 4 of the cooling box 2 can then be provided internally with suitable elements, e.g. protrusions and / or recesses, for locating and holding these cooling elements. In some embodiments, it is also possible to cool the cooling box 2 by an electrically cooling device supplied from the car, which dissipates heat from the inside of the cooling box to the outside or into the interior of the car.

In an alternative embodiment, the insulating material on the walls and at the bottom of the storage space can be fixed and only the lid 5 can be removed or removed. it can be insulating boards glued to the storage space or insulating foam applied inside the storage space.

In an alternative embodiment, the storage space under the floor 3 of the luggage compartment, and thus also the cooling box 2, can have any other shape.
