Abstract
The solution provides a method of preparing a hop material with an increased content of 8-prenylnaringenin in the hop and/or the hop material, where the hop and/or the hop material with a moisture content not exceeding 10% by weight is incubated for 2 to 10 days at a temperature in the range from 40 to 80°C in the presence of at least one metal oxide catalyst. Further, the solution provides a hop material comprising at least 0.03% by weight of 8-prenylnaringenin. The resulting hop material is suitable for food and pharmaceutical use or for the isolation of biologically active substances.
