Stomatologický nástavec k sondě vláknového spektrometruDental attachment to the fiber spectrometer probe
Oblast technikyField of technology
The invention relates to a dental attachment to a fiber spectrometer probe, intended in particular for use in both dentistry and forensic dentistry, for exploiting the spectral properties of teeth.
Monitoring both the time dependence of environmental influences on the color changes of teeth or prosthetic materials, as well as the use of spectral properties of teeth to determine the approximate age of a person has recently shown considerable development. However, objective measurement of tooth discoloration still encounters a number of problems in both prosthetic dentistry and forensic dentistry. Despite the fact that it is an area of white shades with a transparent surface layer of glass, moreover with high biological variability, the error of these determinations is disproportionately high. One of the main reasons can be considered that it is not yet possible to use such measuring instruments that would be suitable for this measurement. For example, the trichromatic colorimeters used so far for dentists usually operate at only three wavelengths and thus do not allow a more complex analysis of the color of the tooth surface. Accurate spectrometers are usually not suitable for measuring such small objects with uneven surfaces as teeth. The use of fiber spectrometers in this field is not yet possible, as their probes are not adapted for use in dentistry. They do not conform to the shape and are not resistant to disinfectants. An example of this is the solution of a probe in an apparatus for evaluating female breast tissue, contained in WO 03020119 A, where this probe is formed by a central hole through which an evaluation wire passes around which optical fibers are arranged and the end of this probe is cut for easier penetration. tissue probe. The use of such a probe for the purpose of evaluating breast tissue is possible, but this solution is definitely not applicable in dentistry, as the actual evaluation of tooth color would be significantly distorted due to the flexibility of the probe and the necessary use of disinfectants would destroy the probe in a very short time.
It is therefore an object of the invention to provide a device which allows the use of fiber spectrometers in said field.
Podstata vynálezuThe essence of the invention
The stated object is achieved by providing a dental attachment to the fiber spectrometer probe according to the technical solution, the essence of which consists in a body, usually made of a material resistant to disinfectants, for example of impact-resistant polystyrene, a cavity for the fiber spectrometer probe and the end of the body is bevelled. The body allows the end of the fiber spectrometer to be gripped and the inclination on this body allows the body to be adjusted to a geometry that guarantees the maximum possible measurement stability. The attachment thus enables the use of a fiber spectrometer, which excels in a significant reduction in weight, demands on the size of the measured field, increased accuracy and affordability.
When using other materials, such as surgical steel, the front inner part of the body needs to be covered with a black matte surface, which prevents multiple reflections.

The spectrometer attachment according to the invention is shown in cross section in the accompanying drawing.
Příklady uskutečnění vynálezuExamples of embodiments of the invention
In this exemplary embodiment, a fiber spectrometer attachment with a UV 2002-ME reflectance probe with seven optical fibers is shown, of which six illumination fibers are arranged in a circle around the receptor fiber. The fiber spectrometer attachment is formed by a body 1 in which a cavity 2 for inserting a spectrometer probe is formed and in the front part the body 1 is provided with a bevel 3. The body 1 is made of black plastic resistant to disinfectants. The bevel 3 is made so that the spectrometer probe forms an angle of 45 ° with the measured tooth surface. This arrangement was verified as the most stable in terms of measurement results, for fixing the probe only by hand, directly at the dental chair. In some cases, it is possible to prevent primary colorless reflection into the receptor fiber by tilting the probe body 1 by 8 ° from the vertical. In these cases, it is possible to adjust the inclination of the attachment, for example by fine sanding with corundum powder on a flat glass plate and polishing with a applied paste. A whole range of plastics, for example impact-resistant polystyrene, can be used for the production of the body 1. In case the body 1 is made of other materials, for example surgical steel, the front inner part 4 of the body 1 is covered with a black matt surface, which prevents multiple reflections.
