Abstract

The slide of the Varioscale cross-country skis has a shaped and specifically defined scaly surface in the middle part of the combined cross-country ski, which will bring much better possibilities of using these cross-country skis both for classical technique and skating without the need for waxing. In the middle part of the ski, there will be scales towards the inner edge formed only very little or hardly at all, and towards the outer edge of the ski, on the contrary, the scales will be formed more. The skis will thus be asymmetrical, the left and right mirror images of each other. The Varioscale slide also allows for an exchangeable design of the middle part, so that the user has more exchangeable central parts of the slide to choose from, from designs with little or no serrations to significantly serrated or with a different course/characteristic of the scales .

Field of technology

The subject of the invention is a specific slide of cross-country skis used in combination for classical technique and skating technique. These are usually referred to as combi or combi cross-country skis, i.e. cross-country skis capable of using both techniques.

Current state of the art

The combi-runner slides currently on the market do not have any special functionality, they are conventional smooth slides with the usual parameters and constructions. On the other hand, cross-country skis for classic technique can have an element of so-called skin sealing or scales, i.e. shape or material elements that offer the user a good reflection of the middle part of the ski, necessary for classic technique. Without them, the middle part of the cross-country ski for classic technique must be waxed with a suitable wax to ensure this reflection by the principle of the slip-stick effect.

However, all the mentioned elements, i.e. both skin sealing and scales, as well as the mentioned waxing, make it difficult or completely impossible to ski with the skating technique. And even on cross-country skis, because once their middle part is waxed using the classic technique, it is no longer possible to skate with them - or only after removing the wax again along the way, which is very complicated and practically impossible. In other words, you can skate on combi cross-country skis, but they must not be lubricated before riding in the classic way of riding, or on the contrary, if they are not lubricated, you cannot ride on them with a classic technique. Even though these skis are capable of both techniques due to their construction, during the ride, in the terrain on snow, it is realistically impossible to change this decision and thus the style of riding.

The essence of the invention

The invention consists in creating a shape-defined scaly surface in the middle part of the ski. If the scales are over the entire surface of the middle chamber, they make skating impossible, which is why cross-country skis don't have them. However, if the scaly surface is only on certain, precisely defined parts of this surface, both skating and the classic technique of using skis will be possible.

It is supposed to be used by less demanding, amateur skiers who, if they skate, skate mainly on the inside edge of the ski. In this part, there will be no scales at all, and towards the outer edge of the ski, from a certain limit, shaped by a specific parabolic curve, the scales will be formed and will become more and more pronounced. So if the skier skates, he will ride along the inner edge of the ski without scales, and therefore without their resistance. As soon as he switches to the classic rebound technique, he will already load the ski perpendicular to the track, i.e. also the outer edge equipped with scales. Loading the ski perpendicularly or even more to the outer edge results in the use of scales, which provide the necessary reflection for classic technique, on the other hand, loading the ski on the inner edge - when skating along the inner edge - results in not using the scales on the outer edge.

The skis will therefore be asymmetrical, left and right mirror images of each other.

The slide also allows the middle part (block) to be made interchangeable, e.g. as shown in illustrations no. 3 and 4 of the picture attachments. The user can have multiple replacement blocks to choose from, from designs with small or inconspicuous scales to significantly scaly, serrated, or other scale patterns and characteristics. This makes it possible to fundamentally change the style of riding on combined cross-country skis, practically from exclusive skating to steep climbs, at will and directly on the track.

Clarification of drawings

Fig. 1 shows the slide of combined cross-country skis, on the central part of which (under the chamber of the ski) there is a block of rising scales, which gradually become smaller and disappear from the outer edge of the slide to its inner edge after a certain limit. The inner area of the slide in this central area of the ski (chamber) is then smooth and the delimitation of the scaly field to the smooth area is a parabolic curve or close to a parabola.

Fig. 2 shows a detail of the slide with pronounced serrations at the outer edge, gradually decreasing towards the inner edge.

In Fig. 3 and 4 is a replacement block with a different size of scales and a shaped border of the scaly field.

An example of the implementation of the invention

An example of the implementation of the invention are combined cross-country skis for classical technique and skating, intended for amateur users. In the central part of the slide, i.e. under the chamber of the ski, there is a replaceable block of climbing scales. This block has a smooth area at the inner edge of the slide and a scaly area at the outer edge of the slide, the scales gradually decreasing from the outer edge of the slide to its inner edge, and the scaly area is defined with respect to the smooth area by a parabolic or near-parabolic curve, as shown in Fig. 1, 2 and 3 of the attached drawings.

The block of climbing scales is fixed in the body of the ski with a shape lock, such as, for example, a prominent longitudinal groove and a transverse lock, for example, a transverse front and rear fixing bevel at the interface of the exchangeable block and the body of the ski according to Fig. 4 in the attached drawings. The block is thus easily exchangeable without the use of tools directly on the cross-country track for another block with a different size of scales and the shape of the definition of the scaly surface. This makes it possible to obtain a different characteristic of the skis directly on the track, for example by changing a block with a significant scaly area suitable especially for classical technique and climbing to a block with a smaller scaly area and thus a significantly better ability of the ski to go with the skating technique, or vice versa.

A slide of combined cross-country skis, intended for classical technique and skating, characterized by the fact that a block of rising scales is placed on its central part, i.e. the chamber, which has a smooth area at the inner edge of the slide and a scaly surface at the outer edge of the slide, whereby the scales gradually decrease from the outer edge of the slide to its inner edge, and the scaly surface is defined by a parabolic or near-parabolic curve with respect to the smooth area. 2. Slide of combined skis according to claim 1, characterized by the fact that the block of rising scales is exchangeable for a block with other parameters, i.e. in particular the size, expressiveness of shape and the curve 10 demarcating the scaly part from the smooth part.
