Pouzdro na klíče, jehož plášť (1) sestává z nejméně dvou stěn, mezi nimiž nebo alespoň v jedné z nich je vytvořen prostor pro uložení nejméně jednoho klíče (4), přičemž pouzdro je opatřeno nejméně jednou aretací, zamezující samovolnému vypadnutí klíče (4) z pouzdra. Jediný prvek, který dává jen velmi jednoduchou a široce rozšířenou formu uspořádání uvnitř pouzdra samého je spojovací závěsný kroužek, někdy tento pevně spojený s pouzdrem samotným prostřednictvím pásky, provázku či řetízku. Pouzdro tak nemá formu organizéru. Jeho cílem není funkčnost, ve smyslu jednak klíče uvnitř pouzdra uspořádat pro co nej lepší přehlednost jejich uložení a pro co nejsnazší jejich vyjmutí a uložení, a jednak minimalizace rozměru pouzdra samého. Jediným účelem je udržení klíčů pohromadě a jejich společné uložení v ochranném obalu pro ochranu jiných měkkých či otěru nevzdomých předmětů uložených poblíž klíčů, jež by klíče mohly svými ostrými hranami poškodit. Ve zveřejněné české přihlášce vynálezu CZ PV 2010-200 A3 je sice navržena forma organizéru klíčů, má však za cíl uspořádat klíče vícero forem, včetně těch třírozměrných, a je proto značně složitý, a dále předpokládá jednak úpravu klíčů samotných před jejich uložením do pouzdra a jednak následnou montáž do složitého soustrojí stavítek, která umožní fixaci klíče a jeho vysunutí před použitím ve dveřním zámku. Každé jednotlivé doplnění pouzdra o další klíč vyžaduje pak vždy demontáž a montáž vlastního pouzdra. Další technické řešení, které je možno považovat za odvozené od předchozího amerického patentu, je uvedeno v patentu US 2344581 A, kde je klíč pevně spojen s jezdcem s možností otočení a na protilehlém konci jezdce je umístěna jmenovka. Dalším technickým principem, podobným těm výše uvedeným, je použitý u klíčenky, zveřejněné v dokumentu WO 2003027396 Al. Zde je klíč před jeho vložením do nosného rámu zbaven kruhového či čtvercového segmentu, jenž je určen k uchopení rukou při otáčení klíče ve dveřním zámku.
