Heavier headlamps have one more strap, which runs from the center of the forehead (from the headlamp) to the center of the rear elevation of the head (the upper strap).

Powerful headlamps have an accumulator located on the flexible strap at the rear (symmetrically with the reflector according to the vertical axis of the user's head), respectively. behind the waist or back of the user. In addition, there are so-called tail lamps, which are red illuminated headlamps, deployed to shine backward. The cycling helmet is designed to have the lowest aerodynamic drag, so its side view remotely i? resembles a circular segment. Sometimes the headlamp slides down and, thanks to the elastic strap, strikes the cyclist (while driving) in the eyes and upper nose. which can be quite painful (the originator of the new solution has experienced in practice), and even if the headlamp is not broken, the driving safety is reduced.

A possible solution is not to put the headlamp on the helmet and therefore do not use one of these aids. This means a very sharp reduction in driving safety, as the helmet is very important for every bike ride and the headlamp is very useful when riding a bicycle in reduced visibility outside the illuminated urban area.

The essence of the technical solution

The essence is 1.1 Velcro

The essence of the proposed solution is to adhere the opposite parts of the Velcro to the headlamp (to its rear wall which is in contact with the helmet or to the front) and to the corresponding place on the helmet. The use of Velcro technology is advantageous as the elastic headband strap (which seeks to undesirably slip and eject the headband) has a positive effect on the adhesion of the headband to the helmet. The velcro on the helmet does not have to be glued completely in the lower part of the helmet, because the cyclist can ride with a slightly inclined head due to the shape of the bicycle, so the helmet shape makes it convenient to place the headlamp on the (side elevation) face of the helmet. . In addition, some types of headlamps can be tilted down but not tilted up.

1.3 Helmet hook

1.4 Rear mounting

Most of the currently marketed bicycle helmets are shaped at the rear so that the flexible headlamp grip can cut into the channels leading to the rear air vents of the helmet, so that the rear headlamp strap cannot slip up or down.

The Velcro may optionally be replaced by a firmer-holding stud. However, it is more suitable for attaching to soft materials (clothing), not to a hard, rigid helmet. In addition, the press stud on the headlamp would be very unpleasant, or rather impossible, to use the headlamp on the bare forehead. But the handle is suitable for opening the strap, which will guide the headlamp strap (similar to the case for ski goggles on ski helmets).

1.10 Accessories

When adjusting or designing the helmet, it is advisable to optimize the positioning of the helmet accessories relative to the headlamp strap path so that the headlamp strap does not obscure the reflective elements on the helmet (reflective accessories are particularly needed when the headlamp is used). sticked by the user on the helmet.

2 Benefits

Due to the use of a suitable color of the hook and loop fastener corresponding to the color of the helmet, it is almost impossible to see that the helmet is additionally equipped with hook and loop fasteners.

In the particular helmet used for the treatment, both the reflective sticker and the rear reflective sticker are fully visible after the actual modification, even when the headband is fitted. The front reflective sticker (helmet manufacturer's logo) is partially visible, thanks to the headlamp positioned slightly above the front edge of the helmet. A major advantage of this solution as a whole is the increased safety of night cycling. The benefits of cycling helmets do not need to be described for the user, the benefit of the headlamp over the light on the handlebars is the view of traffic signs, the handlebars, the tachometer, the chain and gears, or wherever else the cyclist needs to look.
