Abstract
Description
Název Kontaktní a intraokulární čočky s absor vého záření a způsob jejich výrobyContact and intraocular lenses with absorbing radiation and method of their production
Oblast technikyTechnical field
The present invention relates to contact and intraocular lenses with ultraviolet absorbers and to a process for their manufacture.
Stav technikyState of the art
An undamaged eye has the ability to withstand for some time the ultraviolet radiation that is part of daylight. The slow biochemical and physiological changes that this radiation induces in the eye are greatly accelerated if the eye is damaged in any way. Under long-term exposure to ultraviolet radiation, the eye defense mechanism fails and irreversible damage to the cornea, lens or retina. According to the latest findings, the risk of eye damage increases considerably if the ozone layer in the atmosphere breaks down.
Proto je důležité, aby také kontaktní a intraokulární čočky kromě jiného účinně chránily oko proti ultrafialovému záření.Therefore, it is important that contact and intraocular lenses also protect the eye from ultraviolet radiation, among other things.
Therefore, one of the basic requirements for modern polymeric materials for the preparation of contact and intraocular lenses is the ability to absorb UV c (180 - 280 pm) and UV B (280 315 μη) completely. Substances capable of absorbing radiation in this wavelength range are called UV absorbers. an obvious prerequisite for these substances is that they will be incorporated into the lens material in such a way that they cannot be removed by conventional extraction methods, since they can only provide effective eye protection against ultraviolet radiation.
Cílem předmětného vynálezu jsou kontaktní a intraokulární čočky s absorbéry ultrafialového záření a jejich příprava polymerizaci směsi vhodných monomerů, iniciátorů, síťovadla a polymerizovatelných UV absorbérů tak, aby výsledná kontaktní nebo intraokulární čočka absorbovala veškeré procházející ultrafialové světlo. It is an object of the present invention to contact and intraocular lenses with ultraviolet absorbers and to prepare them by polymerizing a mixture of suitable monomers, initiators, crosslinker and polymerizable UV absorbers so that the resulting contact or intraocular lens absorbs all transmitted ultraviolet light.
