Dosud se používají individuální žetony ve kruhovém tvaru jejichž velikosti v hlavních rozměrech odpovídají jednomu nebo dvou rozměrům mincí korunové měny nebo EUR měny platných v ČR. Systémově jsou mincovníky upraveny na využití většího rozměru mince, takže individuální žetony odpovídající rozměrům jedné nebo druhé mince jsou nadbytečné. Při zasunutí dosavadních kruhových žetonů nebo mincí platné měny do otvoru mincovníků vystupuje z nich malá oblouková část, která je obtížně uchopitelná a nepostačuje při vyjímání, zejména u déle používaných mincovníků. Uvedené nevýhody odstraňuje tvar a uspořádání kombinovaného žetonu, jak je vyznačeno na obr. 1 a 2, který má ke kruhovému dílu o rozměrech odpovídajících rozměrům platné mince vyšší nominální hodnoty připojen prostřednictvím spojovací části a segmentu manipulační díl. Spojovací část je užší než je průměr kruhového dílu z důvodu funkce záchytného mechanismu mincových otvíračů. Spojovací část přechází například kruhovým segmentem do vyvýšeného manipulačního dílu. Převýšení spodní části manipulačního dílu oproti poloze kruhového dílu umožňuje využití kombinovaného žetonu u mincových otvíračů se zásuvnou částí. U mincových otvíračů ovládaných pouze zasunutím mince slouží kruhový díl kombinovaného žetonu. U obou způsobů použití pak k snadnějšímu ovládání slouží manipulační díl, který je opatřen vlasovou částí suchého zipu uloženou v jeho vybrání. Pro vhodné uložení, například na přístrojové desce automobilu, slouží háčková část suchého zipu opatřená na zadní straně samolepicí vrstvou.
