Abstract
Η εφεύρεση αφορά μία εγκατάσταση αφαλάτωσης θαλασσινού νερού με πολυβάθμια απόσταξη (MED) και θερμοσυμπίεση ατμού (TVC), η οποία προορίζεται να συνδεθεί με ένα θερμοηλεκτρικό σταθμό, περιλαμβάνοντας μία σειρά κελιών απόσταξης (Α, Β, Γ, Δ, Ε) που λειτουργούν το καθένα σε μία κατώτερη θερμοκρασία και πίεση από αυτές της προηγούμενης βαθμίδας και ένα μέσο θερμοσυμπίεσης, το οποίο επιτρέπει να συμπιεστεί ένα μέρος του υδρατμού που παράγεται από μία απ' τις βαθμίδες (Ε) και να επανεγχυθεί στην πρώτη βαθμίδα (Α). Η εγκατάσταση χαρακτηρίζεται από το ότι το μέσο θερμοσυμπίεσης (6) είναι σχεδιασμένο έτσι ώστε να μπορεί να λειτουργεί, διαδοχικά, σε δύο διαφορετικές πιέσεις κινητήριου ατμού VΜ. Η εφεύρεση αφορά επίσης μία μέθοδο αφαλάτωσης θαλασσινού νερού χρησιμοποιώντας μία τέτοια εγκατάσταση.
