Abstract
Al hacer pasar un haz de luzpulsante y polarizado, proveniente de un LED o de un LáSER semiconductor, por un sisteme optico en el que se coloca la muestra bajo anAlisis y posteriormente hacer pasar dicho haz de luz entre dos fotodiodos dispuestos espacialmente a 90 grados uno del otroy ambos con sus caras de deteccion paralelas al eje de transmision de la luz y el eje de polarizacion orientado a 45 grados del vÉrtice de las aristas en que se unen los fotodiodos, tendremos en las salidas de los dos amplificadores opticos de amplitud constante y fase variable acoplados a cada uno de los fotodiodos la misma senal, o sea, un tren de pulsos con la misma fase, pero al hacer rotar el plano de polarizacion las proyecciones de intencidad de luz sobre los fotodiodos variarA y se desfasarAn las senales a las salidas de los amplificadores, siendo el desfasaje entre los frentes de los pulsos proporcional al Angulo de rotacion del plano de polarizacion de la luz y que se analiza en un circuito digital con este fin. El ancho de los pulsos de cada amplificador independiente es directamente proporcional al valor de absorcion, o sea, mientras mayor sea la absorcion, mayor serA el ancho de los pulsos, de ahí que el promedio de los anchos de los pulsos a la salida de ambos amplificadores es equivalente al valor de la absorcion de la muestra que se mide.
