Abstract

La presente invencion propone nuevas cepas vivas para inmunizar oralmente contra el colera, en las cuales se combinan las dos propiedades mAs importantes que deben poseer las cepas vivas concebidas como agentes vacunales para inmunizar oralmente contra el colera. Una de Éstas propiedades es la de poseer un nivel de reactogenicidad disminuido hasta niveles aceptables, en virtud del empleo de mutaciones ya conocidas y descritas en el arte anterior. La otra propiedad es poseer un mejor índice de seguridad ambiental en virtud de la supresion del gen mshA o mutaciones espontAneas que conduzcan a la ausencia de la fimbria MSHA en la superficie externa de la bacteria y la ausencia del fago VGJfi en su dotacion genÉtica, los cuales, si estuvieran presentes, permitirían la incorporacion y diseminacion del fago CTXfi asistida por VGJfi, objeto de la presente invencion.The present invention proposes new live strains to orally immunize against cholera, in which the two most important properties that live strains conceived as vaccine agents to orally immunize against cholera are combined.
