Abstract

Esta invención está relacionada con la microbiología y en particular con un polímero que es empleado como promotor del crecimiento microbiano y que resulta útil como componente de un juego diagnóstico utilizado para el diagnóstico rápido microbiológico. El objetivo fundamental de esta invención es eliminar el efecto inhibidor - sobre el índice de crecimiento microbiano -de los productos catabólicos que acompanan al inóculo en la detección de infecciones bacterianas y de alimentos contaminados, así como aumentar el nivel de correspondencia con el método de referencia de Kirby - Bauer de los resultados obtenidos en los estudios de susceptibilidad a antibióticos de estos gérmenes. La incorparación de dicho polímero, que es un polisacárido lineal, al medio de cultivo donde es inoculada la muestra a analizar, posibilita obtener mayores índices de crecimiento de los microorganismos y la disminución de los resultados falsos sensibles en los estudios de susceptibilidad a antibióticos.
