Abstract

The branch with which the invention relates is that of the science and technology of glass, referring to the discoloration of sodium-calcium glasses that constitutes a usual practice among glass producers. The discoloration requires as a result glass with light transmission greater than 85%, which is not always achieved even when the processes of chemical discoloration and physical discoloration are used. The essence of the invention consists in using a composition of: Cobalt oxide (Co2O3): 0.00005-0.00007% by mass, based on silica sand. Sidium selenium (Na2SeO3): 0.0045-0.0055% by mass, based on silica sand. Coal: 7-9% by mass, based on sodium selenium.
