Abstract

The solution can be used in research of convective processes in liquids, in medical diagnostics, in control of industrial processes for example of anaerobic fermentations and in other situations, when measuring flow velocity brings about an important piece of information. In comparison to laser-doppler anemometry and thermoanemometry the electrodiffusive velocity measuring is mechanically less complicated and more robust, but it is limited to electrically conductive liquids containing depolarizer. The proposed method solves two issues connected with the use of natural depolarizer - their concentration variability and electrode passivation. The principle of the proposed solution consists in the cyclic regeneration of the sensor by means of a voltage pulse and in the stabilisation at current-less state with subsequent repeated measuring of transition currents in potentiostatic mode. When measuring in service water the proposed solution is performed by a gold working electrode, auxiliary zinc electrode, or AKV stainless steel electrode, and concrete voltages and time delays are specified for optimum measuring procedure.<IMAGE>
