Abstract

The melt belt of thermoplastic mass is transferred from the ejector via heating cylinders through the belt conveyor to the device for forming hollow objects, e.g. crucibles, cups and other vessels, especially for food-industry purposes. In order to prevent the melt belt from clinging to the conveyor belt, one cools down in a controlled manner such a layer of the melt that is in contact with the conveyor belt. The forming temperature is achieved by spontaneous heat transfer from the middle part of the cross section of the melt belt into the surface part before entry of the belt of the plastic mass into the forming device. The relative positions of the heating cylinders (2, 3, 4) of the conveyor (10) and the length of the transport path of the conveyor (10), which is in contact with the melt belt (11) are adjustable, which results in controllability of the temperature of the surface of the melt belt (11), which is in contact with the conveyor (10). The melt belt (11) thus enters into the warm-forming device cooled down to the forming temperature, which is lower than the temperature that would result into clinging of the melt belt to the conveyor belt (10).<IMAGE>
