Abstract

The flexible pick-up roller for harvesting machines is designed for trouble-free collection of mowed material from uneven terrain. The harvesting table of the harvesting machine is equipped with an elastic transverse pick-up roller at the front, which is attached to the sides of the swing arms equipped with soil-following wheels via a rotating shaft.

Description

The invention relates to a flexible pick-up roller for harvesting machines, in particular for collecting pre-mowed material in a multiphase harvest of mainly seed crops.

Current types of collecting devices, especially at a larger working width, are not able to adapt to unevenness of the surface and, as a result of the unmounted material, harvest losses occur. If a material summary is performed prior to collection, increased losses are also often made, and plants are harder to dry. In addition, summarizing increases operating costs.

The flexible pick-up roller for the harvesting machines according to the invention removes these disadvantages. Its essence is that the harvesting table of the harvesting machine is provided in the front with an elastic transverse pick-up roller, which is attached by means of a rotary shaft to the swinging arms provided with copying soil wheels.

The flexible pick-up roller for harvesting machines according to the invention enables the collection of free-standing plants even on uneven terrain over the entire width of the harvesting table, while improving material collection even if the harvesting table itself is not adapted for cross-country copying.

The harvest table 1 of a harvesting machine (not shown) is provided with a transverse shrinking auger 2. In the front it is provided with an elastic transverse pickup roller 3 rotatable on a shaft 4 and provided with picking fingers 5, preferably flexible. Blade pickers 6 may extend between the picking fingers 5. The shaft 4 of the pick-up roller 3 can advantageously be attached to the harvest table 1 or to the machine by means of swinging arms 7 attached to the joints 8 on the machine optionally provided on the sides with a soil wheel 9. The shaft 4 is supported in bearings 10.

The flexible pick-up roller according to the invention functions as follows: As the machine moves in direction P, the pick-up roller 3 rotates towards S and its pick-up fingers 5 pick up and pick up the mowed material. The collecting roller 3, by its elasticity, adapts itself to the terrain surface on the one hand, and on the other hand, copying can be facilitated by the aforementioned pivot bearing on the rocker arms 7 and the copying soil wheels 9.
