Abstract

It solves the problem of the simple folding of the briefcase handle which is easy to manufacture.

It is an object of the present invention to provide a profile groove in the reinforcing member in which the suture strip is provided. The profile groove preferably has a dovetail shape.

The invention relates to a briefcase handle, in particular for network school briefcases, attached to the briefcase lid in a conventional manner.

Briefcase handles are known in the haberdashery industry, consisting of a reinforcing strip of leather wrapped with layers of leather. The wrapping is performed twice to form a sufficiently strong loop for fastening the handle. The individual layers over which the reinforcing member is wrapped are pre-coated with an adhesive to fix them sufficiently before suturing. Another type of handle is based on the wrapping of plastic moldings with a leather cover which is stitched to the molding by stitching. The disadvantage of these handles is the laboriousness of their production and low durability due to breakage of the stitched parts together during practical carrying of the briefcase, eventually also damage of the leather material itself. Handles, especially suitcases, made of plastic materials are known which are still reinforced inside with metal parts which also serve to attach the handle to the body of the suitcase. Other known briefcase handles consist of a reinforcing core wrapped with a poppy thermoplastic resin tape. Other handles consist of carrier strips, in the middle of the sleeve provided with a cover, made of synthetic leather. The disadvantage of these types of handles is that their use on leather briefcases violates the overall nature of the leather product. In addition, the use of metal reinforcements adversely affects the weight of the briefcase, which is particularly important for school briefcases.

The above-mentioned disadvantages are overcome by the invention, which is characterized in that a profile groove is formed in the reinforcing member in which the leather strap is fixed by means of a stitch.

The technical effect of the invention is that the briefcase handle is easy to assemble and its production does not require complicated operations and higher material costs. It will reduce laboriousness and increase productivity. The stitch does not strain when carried, which increases the service life. During the production, leather material is saved which coincides with the top material of the briefcases. The side protrusions of the plastic profile are slightly sloped inwards and the inserted leather is thus secured against falling out or displacement and the auxiliary fixation of the leather strip before sewing is removed. From the aesthetic point of view, the briefcase with the handle according to the invention retains the character of a uniform leather product.

The stiffening member 1 is preferably formed from an extruded profile of a thermoplastic material from which the length required to make the handle is cut. A leather strip 3 of equal length, preferably color coordinated with the base material of the leather briefcase, is inserted into the profile groove 2. The profile groove 2 secures the temporary fastening of the leather strip 3 to the stiffening member 1.
