Abstract
Granular industrial surface treatment fertilizers using bituminous mixtures substances in mineral oil that are modified by adding 0.1-20% wt. low molecular weight polyolefins, polyesters or. \ t polyols. The present polymers improve anti-caking properties efficiency, improve adhesion to granules and improve the flow properties of the fertilizer, what is of great importance in downstream use fertilizers, where these properties except nutrient content and their forms are crucial.
Description
The invention relates to an anti-caking agent for the surface treatment of granular industrial fertilizers.
There are known compositions for surface treatment of industrial fertilizers as solutions of bituminous substances in mineral oil, the solution of which is applied in patent DL 101 657. Patents SU 600 127, US 3 477 842 and DT 2 018 623 solve the non-caking of industrial fertilizers using hydrophobic and separation materials or a combination thereof. A higher anti-caking effect while reducing the oil and bitumen content is achieved by using the treatment of industrial fertilizers with an anti-caking agent according to the invention, which is based on 5-40 wt. The bituminous substances in the mineral oil contain 0.1-20% of polymeric substances having a molecular weight of 5-20.000, the polymeric substance being a low molecular weight polyethylene of 5-10.000 molecular weight, a homopolymer dispersion of polyvinyl acetate with a particle size of 50-400 nm and a partially hydrolysed polyvinyl alcohol containing 3-20% acetate groups. The essence of the proposed solution is an anti-caking agent based on 5-40% bituminous substances in mineral oil, which contains 0.1-20% by weight. Low molecular weight polyethylene, homopolymer dispersion of polyvinyl acetate and partially hydrolyzed polyvinyl alcohol can be used as polymeric substances.
The addition of polymeric substances to bitumen solutions increases the anti-caking performance by 20% over similar bitumen solutions. Adhesion to the surface of the granules is increased, the pouring angles are improved by 5-10% while maintaining excellent flow properties. The viscosity characteristic of the hydrophobic separation mixtures is stabilized. Possibility of use is assumed for non-caking surface treatment of urea of combined fertilizers and blades.
