(54) Textile container for transporting bulk materials with a tendency to arch

The present invention relates to a textile container for conveying bulk materials with a tendency to arch.

Textile containers (bags or giant bags) are produced and used to transport bulk materials. These are generally made of technical fabrics, possibly provided with one or both sides of plastic. Their advantage is easy handling with common loading equipment and saving of space when transporting empty collapsed containers.

A disadvantage of conventional cylindrical or prismatic containers is the danger of impaired emptying of materials which tend to form vaults and difficulties in filling to utilize the entire container space.

The above-mentioned drawbacks and disadvantages are overcome by the textile container according to the invention, whose essence is that it is closed on the one hand by the bottom and on the other hand it is conically tapered. The surface lines of this cone form an angle equal to or greater than the flow angle of the conveyed mass with the plane perpendicular to the container axis. This conical constriction is terminated by a closable throat, which serves for filling and emptying. The container is provided with handling lugs at the neck and at the circumference of the jacket at the bottom. The lower eyelets are used for emptying and the upper eyelets are for gripping while carrying. The lower and upper lifting eyes are connected by a rope on which a steel eye is threaded to facilitate handling when the container is being emptied, which is carried out after being lifted by the lower handles and twisted upside down.

By narrowing the container at the top with a slope corresponding to the angle of repose of the material being transported, the space is fully utilized. When the container is tipped by 180 °, said constriction of the container by means of a hopper will prevent the emptying of the material. The single-fill configuration for filling and emptying, which is at the top during transport, eliminates the possibility of moisture entering from below when the loading area of the conveyor is wet. The movement of the material when the container is turned into the emptying position has a positive effect on releasing any congestion caused during transport.

In the accompanying drawing, FIG. 1 shows a prior art embodiment of a prismatic container, and FIGS. 2a and 2b show an embodiment of a container according to the invention with a constriction corresponding to the angle of repose of the material.

In FIGS. 2a, 2b the container according to the invention is provided with only one throat 1, provided with a cover closure 3 at the top. "For handling purposes, it is provided with grips 8 at the filling and emptying throat 1 and 9 of the upper grip 8 and the lower grip 7. A steel eye 10 is threaded onto the cable connection. A design for a method of handling the emptying of the container according to the invention is shown in Figs. 3a, 3b, 3c.
