Pre filtráciu termoplastických materiálov, ktoré možno výhodné spracovávať kontinuitným spósobom z taveniny, je výhodné používat kontinuitné filtre, kde sa filtrovaný materiál pretláča cez nepřetržíte sa pohybujúci filtračný pás. Filtračný pás v telese filtra musí byť podopieraný pevnou podpornou perforovanou platničkou, aby sa zabezpečil bezporuchový a plynulý chod filtračného pásů. Filtračný pás je tlakom filtrovaného materiálu pritláčaný na uvedenu perforovánu podpornú platničku. V miestach otvorov tejto platničky dochádza k preliačeniu filtračného šita do perforácie. Toto preliačenie kladie odpor pohybu filtračného pásu.
