<p>La presente invención se refiere al uso de un compuesto de fórmula general (<strong>I</strong>) en donde los restos <strong>R<sup>1</sup></strong> - <strong>R<sup>10</sup> </strong>se seleccionan independientemente entre sí entre el grupo que consiste en hidrógeno y alquilo C<sub>1</sub>-C<sub>4</sub>; el resto -<strong>L</strong>- representa <strong>-CR<sup>a</sup>-CR<sup>b</sup>-</strong>, en donde <strong>R<sup>a</sup></strong> y <strong>R<sup>b</sup></strong> se seleccionan independientemente entre sí entre el grupo que consiste en hidrógeno y metilo; y <strong>n</strong> es un número entero comprendido entre 2 y 6 para marcar químicamente un hidrocarburo de petróleo seleccionado entre el grupo que consiste en gasolina, combustible diésel, queroseno y combustible para reactores, para impedir la falsificación de dicho hidrocarburo de petróleo.
