Abstract
Se presentan métodos para obtener una planta de palma aceitera altamente productiva, que incluyen la determinación del nivel de un metabolito en el tejido 5 del mesocarpo de un fruto de una planta parental de palma aceitera, entre 11 y 23 semanas después de la polinización de la misma, la determinación de la existencia de una diferencia entre este nivel y el nivel del metabolito en el tejido del mesocarpo de un fruto de una planta de palma aceitera de referencia, también entre 11 y 23 semanas después de su polinización, en el cual la diferencia consiste en que el nivel del 10 metabolito sea al menos 15% mayor o 5% menor para la planta parental de palma aceitera con respecto a la planta de palma aceitera de referencia, y seleccionar progenie de la planta parental de palma aceitera con base en la diferencia para obtener una palma con alta productividad.
