Abstract
El invento provee métodos para acrecentar la tasa de asimilación de CO2 en células y plantas fotosintéticas. El invento comprende reducir o evitar el reciclado de lípidos y/o expresar oleosinas modificadas con residuos de cisteína introducidos artificialmente en las células y plantas fotosintéticas. El invento provee también métodos para acrecentar producción de aceite en plantas, mediante la expresión de oleosinas modificadas con residuos de cisteína introducidos artificialmente en los tejidos/órganos no fotosintéticos de las plantas. El método incluye también opcionalmente el paso de extraer el aceite de los tejidos/órganos no fotosintéticos de la planta, o procesar los tejidos/órganos no fotosintéticos ricos en aceite para formar alimentos para animales o materia prima de biocombustibles.The invention provides methods to increase the rate of CO2 assimilation in photosynthetic cells and plants. The invention comprises reducing or preventing the recycling of lipids and / or expressing modified oleosins with artificially introduced cysteine residues into the cells and photosynthetic plants. The invention also provides methods for increasing production of oil in plants, by expressing modified oleosins with artificially introduced cysteine residues into non-photosynthetic tissues of the plants. The method also optionally includes the step of extracting the oil from the non-photosynthetic tissues of the plant, or processing the non-photosynthetic tissues / oil-rich organs to form animal feed or biofuel raw material.
