Abstract

La invención se relaciona con un decodificador (1) para decodificar datos de video y datos de subtítulos asociados con los datos de video, dichos datos de video resultan de un flujo de datos (F) que comprende adicionalmente referencias temporales (PCR). El decodificador (1) incluye un espacio de almacenamiento (3), los datos de video y subtítulos se almacenan en forma multiplexada en dicho espacio de almacenamiento (3), una primer memoria buffer (5) que opera en un modo FIFO y capaz de almacenar los datos de video en la forma de paquetes (p1), una segunda memoria buffer (6) opera en un modo FIFO y es capaz de almacenar temporalmente los datos de subtítulo en la forma de paquetes (p3), un desmultiplexor (4) para trasmitir los datos de video y los datos de subtítulo respectivamente hacia la primera y segunda memoria buffer (5, 6), y un reloj local (15). El espacio de almacenamiento (3) incluye unos medios (16) para almacenar las referencias temporales (PCR), el decodificador (1) incluye unos medios (10) para generar una marca temporal de presentación (PTSV) asociada con cada paquete de datos de subtítulo (p3), que no incluye una marca temporal de presentación (PTVS), dicha marca temporal (PTSV) se determina sobre la base de un valor de referencia temporal transmitido por el desmultiplexor (4) y utilizado para sincronizar la presentación de los paquetes de datos de subtítulo (p3) con relación a dicho reloj local (15).
