Abstract

La presente invención incrementa las funcionalidades de un dispositivo STB receptor/decodificador de televisión mediante transferir un puerto local del dispositivo STB de cliente liviano por una red a la cual el dispositivo de cliente liviano está conectado. El usuario del dispositivo de cliente liviano puede entonces manejar, mediante una interfaz de usuario, el equipo periférico que está conectado físicamente al cliente liviano pero conectado lógicamente al servidor. 1.- Un dispositivo (101) de cliente liviano que tiene una primera interfaz (109) de conexión a una red (110), caracterizado en que: - El cliente liviano tiene una aplicación (103.2) de cliente virtual apta para conectarse, mediante la primera interfaz, a una aplicación (119.1) de servidor de virtualización de aplicaciones ejecutada por un dispositivo (116, 150) de servidor que tiene una segunda interfaz (117, 151) de conexión a la red, la conexión entre las aplicaciones de cliente y servidor están realizadas entonces mediante la primera interfaz, la red y la segunda interfaz utilizando un protocolo de interfaz a distancia común a las dos aplicaciones de virtualización, - El cliente liviano tiene un primer puerto (111) local de conexión de un periférico. - El cliente liviano tiene una primer puerta (113, 114) para hacer interfaz con el primer puerto de conexión con la primera interfaz, el servidor tiene una segunda puerta (120, 160) para hacer interfaz con un piloto de un periférico conectado al primer puerto con la segunda interfaz y permitirle a la aplicación de servidor utilizar el primer puerto como un puerto local de servidor.
