Abstract
El proceso de distribución de energía eléctrica es ejecutado a través de Sistemas de Distribución Local (SDL) compuestos por subestaciones, transformadores y redes de distribución (líneas). Esta infraestructura es numerosa, de amplia longitud y de permanencia en los entornos urbanos y rurales, lo que produce una inevitable interacción con los diferentes actores del ecosistema, entre ellos, la fauna asociada a las zonas de influencia, la cual se ve afectada por eventos de electrocución lo que genera efectos negativos, no sólo para el hábitat y la conservación de las especies, sino también para la operación técnica del suministro de energía, gracias a las interrupciones del servicio, costos de restablecimiento de la infraestructura, gastos de personal, entre otros. A pesar de que se conocen soluciones que han intentado abordar este problema, son complejas en su configuración y poseen baja flexibilidad a la hora de adaptarse a los diferentes tipos de infraestructura.
