Abstract

Se proporcionan métodos y sistemas para la eliminación de iones de fluidos acuosos. En determinadas modalidades, la presente descripción proporciona un método para eliminar uno o más oxianiones de un fluido acuoso, que incluye las etapas de poner en contacto un fluido acuoso que contiene oxianiones con un metal de aluminio mediante el cual los iones de aluminio se liberan del metal de aluminio al fluido acuoso, en donde los uno o más oxianiones en el fluido acuoso reaccionan con los iones de aluminio para formar una o más ettringitas; controlar la velocidad de liberación de los iones de aluminio del metal de aluminio; y eliminar al menos una porción de ettringitas precipitadas del fluido acuoso.
