Abstract
Un método para determinar una propiedad dentro de una formación subterránea comprende introducir nanopartículas de sílice en un pozo; obtener una muestra de un fluido producido desde el pozo; y analizar la muestra para determinar la presencia de nanopartículas de sílice, donde las nanopartículas de sílice comprenden un núcleo, un cromóforo donante, un cromóforo aceptor y una cubierta de sílice exterior; el cromóforo donante y el cromóforo aceptor se seleccionan de forma tal que un espectro de emisión del cromóforo donante se superpone con un espectro de absorción del cromóforo aceptor.
