The hook 6 has a hook portion 7 (best shown in fig. 4) that is curved (e.g., U-shaped, C-shaped or the like) for hooking an article, such as a bicycle or the like. The hook 6 further comprises a fixing portion 8 extending from the hook portion, which fixing portion is adapted to be mounted to the support device 3.
Although one embodiment of the storage device 1 is illustrated, an unlimited number of designs and configurations are possible and such alternatives should be considered within the scope of the utility model. The storage device 1 may be used to store a wide variety of items such as storage boxes, sports equipment, holiday decorations, and any other items that a user may want to store. The hook 6 may be used to support bicycles and other similar items.
The lock nut 9, having a generally rectangular body and a centrally located tapped opening (as described in more detail above), is sized and shaped to fit within the U-shaped cross-section of the second rod to abut the edge portion.
As shown in fig. 3, the storage device 1 includes a mounting bar 12 having a first end 10 and a second end 11. In this embodiment, the mounting bar 12 is shaped to fit over and abut one of the mounting members 2. In this embodiment, the mounting bar 12 is in the form of a rigid plate, rib or similar structure (e.g., steel, hard plastic, etc.), although it may take many forms and shapes.
The mounting bar 12 has a U-shaped mounting slot 4. The U-shaped mounting groove 4 includes a mounting groove bottom wall, two opposite mounting groove side walls extending upward from the mounting groove bottom wall, each of the two opposite mounting groove side walls extending to a mounting groove bending portion extending inward to a mounting groove extension portion terminating at a mounting groove edge portion. A plurality of mounting holes are provided in the U-shaped mounting groove 4, the plurality of mounting holes being provided along the length of the mounting groove bottom wall of each of the at least two mounting members 2.
The storage device 1 comprises a fastener 13 for mounting the mounting bar 12 on the mounting member 2, the mounting bar being secured to the wall by the fastener 13, the fastener 13 extending through the aperture of the mounting member 2 and through the U-shaped mounting slot 4 such that the mounting bar 12 is disposed adjacent the wall in a vertical orientation.
In this embodiment, the fastener 13 for mounting comprises a bolt that fits through a plurality of apertures, which in this embodiment are positioned adjacent the first and second ends 10, 11 and engage the lock nut 9. The lock nut 9 may have a generally rectangular body and a centrally located tapped opening, the lock nut 9 being sized and shaped to fit within the U-shaped cross-section of one of the mounts 2.
The bolt has a head and a shank which is externally threaded and is sized to fit through one of the apertures of the mounting rod 12 and to engage the tapped opening of the lock nut 9 by threading for removably clamping the mounting rod 12 to the mount 2.
As shown in fig. 3, the supporting device 3 further includes a first lever 14 disposed in a horizontal direction and a second lever 15 disposed obliquely below the first lever 14. A first rod 14 extends outwardly from the mounting rod 12 adjacent the first end 10 and a second rod 15 extends outwardly from the mounting rod 12. In the present embodiment, the first lever 14 has a length L1, and the second lever 15 has a length L2, the length L1 being greater than L2. The first lever 14 and the second lever 15 are separated by a distance D at the mounting lever 12. The first rod 14 extends in a horizontal orientation orthogonal to the mounting rod 12. The second rod 15 extends from one end 16 (proximal end) of the second rod to the other end 17 (distal end) of the second rod, wherein the proximal end 16 is attached to the mounting rod 12 between the first rod 14 and the second end 11 of the mounting rod 12.
One end of the first rod 14 and one end of the second rod 15 are connected to the mounting rod 12, the other end of the second rod 15 is connected to the other end of the first rod 14, and the distal end 17 is connected to the first rod 14 by, for example, welding, mechanical fastening, or otherwise such that the first rod 14 and the second rod 15 form an angle α of 5 degrees to 60 degrees. In the current embodiment, the angle α is approximately 20 degrees. The benefit of this angle α is that it allows the hooks 6 or any other item to be fastened to the support means 3, underneath the support means 3, and furthermore, the horizontal and vertical positions of the hooks 6 or other item (relative to the wall, floor or other surrounding structure) can be adjusted by moving the hooks 6 or other item back and forth on the second rod 15.
As shown in fig. 6, the lock nut 9 may comprise two diagonal corners removed to form a rounded corner, while the other corners remain at right angles of 90 degrees. This arrangement facilitates the mounting of the nut 9 in the U-shaped mounting groove in the mounting bar. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that these other details may be modified by one skilled in the art without departing from the utility model, and that these alternative configurations are to be considered as being within the scope of the utility model.
A portion of the storage device 1 is cut away to illustrate how the hook 6 is mounted on the storage device 1. As shown in fig. 5, the first rod 14 may be in the form of an elongated through slot having a U-shaped cross-section comprising a bottom wall 18, two opposing side walls 19 extending upwardly from the bottom wall 18, each of the two opposing side walls 19 extending to a fold 20, which may extend inwardly to an extension 21, the extension 21 terminating in an edge 22. Mounting holes 23 (any form of aperture adapted to receive a screw, bolt or similar fastener) may similarly be formed in bottom wall 18, although this is not required.
The second lever 15 has a similar configuration to the first lever 14 and will not be described again here.
