The present utility model relates to the technical field of devices for storage and installation of articles, and more particularly to a storage device.

Background

The prior art teaches various forms of mounting structures including a channel structure, a locking nut, and a bolt for locking an object to the channel structure, commonly referred to as a post channel.

Rebentisch (U.S. patent No. 4,784,552, assigned to Unistrut international) teaches a special nut for attaching components to a channel structure. The nut has an improved locating means protruding from the top surface of the nut for properly locating the nut in the channel structure.

Attwood (U.S. patent No. 2,696,139) teaches a special nut for securing components to a channel metal structure that is constructed from a relatively narrow rectangular piece of metal having a centrally located tapped opening (tapped opening, threaded opening) and two diagonally opposite corners (diagonally opposite corners, diagonally opposite corner) removed, the nut being provided with springs on one face that are arranged perpendicular to the face of the nut and have parallel intersecting grooves on its opposite faces. The recess has teeth protruding into the recess from its side walls, the teeth on one side being spaced from the teeth on the opposite side, the edges of the teeth converging downwards, whereby the teeth overlap each other in the bottom of the recess.

Preferably, the lock nut has a generally rectangular body and a centrally located tapped opening, the lock nut being sized and shaped to fit within the elongated through slot of the second rod to abut the edge portion of the second rod.

Preferably, the bolt has a head and a shank, the shank being externally threaded and sized to fit through the aperture of the fixing portion and to threadably engage the tapped opening of the lock nut to removably clamp the hook onto the second shank.

Preferably, the lock nut comprises two diagonally opposite corners defining a rounded corner.

Preferably, the storage device further comprises at least two mounting bars, each mounting bar having a U-shaped mounting slot; the U-shaped mounting groove comprises a mounting groove bottom wall and two opposite mounting groove side walls extending inwards from the mounting groove bottom wall, each of the two opposite mounting groove side walls extends to a mounting groove bending part, the mounting groove bending parts extend inwards to a mounting groove extending part, and the mounting groove extending part is terminated at a mounting groove edge part; and a plurality of elongated mounting holes are arranged in the U-shaped mounting groove, and a plurality of elongated grooves are arranged along the length of the bottom wall of the mounting groove of the U-shaped mounting groove.

Preferably, the mounting bar is secured to the wall by a second fastener that extends through the aperture of the mounting member and through the U-shaped mounting slot.

The technical solutions in the embodiments of the present utility model will be clearly and completely described below with reference to the accompanying drawings in the embodiments of the present utility model. All other embodiments, which can be made by a person skilled in the art based on the embodiments of the utility model without any inventive effort, are intended to fall within the scope of the utility model.

In order that the above-recited objects, features and advantages of the present utility model will become more readily apparent, a more particular description of the utility model will be rendered by reference to the appended drawings and appended detailed description.

The present utility model provides a storage device adapted to be wall-mounted for storing a wide variety of items, as will be described in more detail below.

As shown in fig. 1 to 6, in the present embodiment, the storage device 1 includes a mount 2 and a support device 3. The number of the mounting member 2 and the supporting means 3 may be plural. In this embodiment, the mount 2 is mounted vertically on a wall (e.g. a garage wall or any other location where a user may want to store different items, such as sporting goods or any other item the user may want to store).

The general construction of the mounting members 2 (in this embodiment slotted strut channels) is known in the art and although they generally have the same construction as shown in fig. 2, they will not be discussed in greater detail herein. In this embodiment, the mount 2 is mounted to the wall using a plurality of fasteners (such as screws or bolts, etc.) which are positioned through the U-shaped mounting slots 4 in the mount 2.

The support means 3 may be adjustably mounted so that they can be easily moved to different positions. As shown in fig. 2 and 3, the support device 3 may be mounted on the mount 2, as discussed in more detail below.

The support means 3 is for supporting a bracket 5 (in this embodiment a wire bracket formed by a plurality of parallel wires or ribs), the bracket 5 being fastenable to the support means 3 by means of fasteners. As shown in fig. 1, the bracket 5 may also be mounted directly on the mount 2. It is clear that a wide variety of brackets may be used (e.g. simple wooden boards and/or any other form of brackets known in the art, etc.), and that the support device 3 may also be used to support structures other than brackets.

The support means 3 may be used for mounting the hooks 6, as discussed in more detail below. Although one embodiment of the hook 6 is illustrated, the particular shape and configuration of the hook 6 may vary widely and alternative designs and configurations should be considered within the scope of the present utility model.

The hook 6 has a hook portion 7 (best shown in fig. 4) that is curved (e.g., U-shaped, C-shaped or the like) for hooking an article, such as a bicycle or the like. The hook 6 further comprises a fixing portion 8 extending from the hook portion, which fixing portion is adapted to be mounted to the support device 3.

Although one embodiment of the storage device 1 is illustrated, an unlimited number of designs and configurations are possible and such alternatives should be considered within the scope of the utility model. The storage device 1 may be used to store a wide variety of items such as storage boxes, sports equipment, holiday decorations, and any other items that a user may want to store. The hook 6 may be used to support bicycles and other similar items.

The lock nut 9, having a generally rectangular body and a centrally located tapped opening (as described in more detail above), is sized and shaped to fit within the U-shaped cross-section of the second rod to abut the edge portion.

As shown in fig. 3, the storage device 1 includes a mounting bar 12 having a first end 10 and a second end 11. In this embodiment, the mounting bar 12 is shaped to fit over and abut one of the mounting members 2. In this embodiment, the mounting bar 12 is in the form of a rigid plate, rib or similar structure (e.g., steel, hard plastic, etc.), although it may take many forms and shapes.

The mounting bar 12 has a U-shaped mounting slot 4. The U-shaped mounting groove 4 includes a mounting groove bottom wall, two opposite mounting groove side walls extending upward from the mounting groove bottom wall, each of the two opposite mounting groove side walls extending to a mounting groove bending portion extending inward to a mounting groove extension portion terminating at a mounting groove edge portion. A plurality of mounting holes are provided in the U-shaped mounting groove 4, the plurality of mounting holes being provided along the length of the mounting groove bottom wall of each of the at least two mounting members 2.

The storage device 1 comprises a fastener 13 for mounting the mounting bar 12 on the mounting member 2, the mounting bar being secured to the wall by the fastener 13, the fastener 13 extending through the aperture of the mounting member 2 and through the U-shaped mounting slot 4 such that the mounting bar 12 is disposed adjacent the wall in a vertical orientation.

In this embodiment, the fastener 13 for mounting comprises a bolt that fits through a plurality of apertures, which in this embodiment are positioned adjacent the first and second ends 10, 11 and engage the lock nut 9. The lock nut 9 may have a generally rectangular body and a centrally located tapped opening, the lock nut 9 being sized and shaped to fit within the U-shaped cross-section of one of the mounts 2.

The bolt has a head and a shank which is externally threaded and is sized to fit through one of the apertures of the mounting rod 12 and to engage the tapped opening of the lock nut 9 by threading for removably clamping the mounting rod 12 to the mount 2.

As shown in fig. 3, the supporting device 3 further includes a first lever 14 disposed in a horizontal direction and a second lever 15 disposed obliquely below the first lever 14. A first rod 14 extends outwardly from the mounting rod 12 adjacent the first end 10 and a second rod 15 extends outwardly from the mounting rod 12. In the present embodiment, the first lever 14 has a length L1, and the second lever 15 has a length L2, the length L1 being greater than L2. The first lever 14 and the second lever 15 are separated by a distance D at the mounting lever 12. The first rod 14 extends in a horizontal orientation orthogonal to the mounting rod 12. The second rod 15 extends from one end 16 (proximal end) of the second rod to the other end 17 (distal end) of the second rod, wherein the proximal end 16 is attached to the mounting rod 12 between the first rod 14 and the second end 11 of the mounting rod 12.

One end of the first rod 14 and one end of the second rod 15 are connected to the mounting rod 12, the other end of the second rod 15 is connected to the other end of the first rod 14, and the distal end 17 is connected to the first rod 14 by, for example, welding, mechanical fastening, or otherwise such that the first rod 14 and the second rod 15 form an angle α of 5 degrees to 60 degrees. In the current embodiment, the angle α is approximately 20 degrees. The benefit of this angle α is that it allows the hooks 6 or any other item to be fastened to the support means 3, underneath the support means 3, and furthermore, the horizontal and vertical positions of the hooks 6 or other item (relative to the wall, floor or other surrounding structure) can be adjusted by moving the hooks 6 or other item back and forth on the second rod 15.

As shown in fig. 6, the lock nut 9 may comprise two diagonal corners removed to form a rounded corner, while the other corners remain at right angles of 90 degrees. This arrangement facilitates the mounting of the nut 9 in the U-shaped mounting groove in the mounting bar. It will be apparent to those skilled in the art that these other details may be modified by one skilled in the art without departing from the utility model, and that these alternative configurations are to be considered as being within the scope of the utility model.

A portion of the storage device 1 is cut away to illustrate how the hook 6 is mounted on the storage device 1. The bolt has a head and a shank which is externally threaded and is dimensioned to fit through the aperture of the fixing portion of the hook and to engage the tapped opening of the lock nut 9 by threading for removably clamping the hook 6 against the second rod 15. These types of fasteners may be used to attach any article or accessory to either of the first and second rods 14, 15, or to either of the mounting elongated through slots, thereby giving the present utility model great flexibility in configuration and design.

As shown in fig. 5, the first rod 14 may be in the form of an elongated through slot having a U-shaped cross-section comprising a bottom wall 18, two opposing side walls 19 extending upwardly from the bottom wall 18, each of the two opposing side walls 19 extending to a fold 20, which may extend inwardly to an extension 21, the extension 21 terminating in an edge 22. Mounting holes 23 (any form of aperture adapted to receive a screw, bolt or similar fastener) may similarly be formed in bottom wall 18, although this is not required.

The second lever 15 has a similar configuration to the first lever 14 and will not be described again here.

While the preferred embodiment of the utility model has been shown and described, it is envisioned that those skilled in the art may devise various modifications of the present utility model within the spirit and scope of the appended claims.

1. -A storage device (1), characterized in that the storage device (1) is configured to be fixable to an upright wall for use, the storage device comprising a mount (2), a support device (3) and a storage item;

3. Storage device (1) according to claim 1, characterized in that the storage item comprises a bracket (5) and/or a hook (6).

4. A storage device (1) according to claim 3, characterized in that the bracket (5) is supported by the support device (3) and fastened to the support device (3) by means of a first fastener.

A storage device (1) according to claim 3, characterized in that the hook (6) has a hook portion (7) and a securing portion (8) extending from the hook portion (7), the connection of the securing portion (8) to the second rod (15) being achieved by a fixed connection of a locking nut (9) arranged in the elongated through slot of the second rod (15) with a bolt passing through the aperture of the securing portion (8).

The storage device (1) according to claim 5, wherein the locking nut (9) has a generally rectangular body and a centrally located tapped opening, the locking nut (9) being sized and shaped to fit within the elongated through slot of the second rod (15) to abut an edge portion (22) of the second rod (15).

The storage device (1) according to claim 6, characterized in that the bolt has a head and a shank with an external thread and is dimensioned to fit through the aperture of the fixing portion (8) and to engage by threading the tapping opening of the locking nut (9) to removably clamp the hook (6) on the second rod (15).

8. Storage device (1) according to claim 5, characterized in that the locking nut (9) comprises two diagonally opposite corners defining a rounded corner.

9. The storage device (1) according to claim 1, further comprising at least two mounting bars (12), each mounting bar (12) having a mounting slot (4);

The mounting groove (4) comprises a mounting groove bottom wall and two opposite mounting groove side walls extending upwards from the mounting groove bottom wall, each of the two opposite mounting groove side walls extends to a mounting groove bending part, the mounting groove bending parts extend inwards to a mounting groove extending part, and the mounting groove extending part is terminated at a mounting groove edge part; and
